Itinerary
Days 1-2 Delhi
Arrive in Delhi and discover the sights and sounds of India’s bustling capital city with a half day sightseeing tour.
Day 3 Delhi to Leh
Fly to Leh, gateway to the Ladakh region. Leh is set high up in the Himalayas and was once an important trading post on the legendary Silk Road. The afternoon is at leisure to acclimatise.
Day 4 Leh to Thiksey
Enjoy a morning walking tour of Leh’s highlights. Afterwards, transfer to 5* Chamba Camp Thiksey. Located at an altitude of 3,500m, this luxury camp offers a variety of fascinating included activities.
Day 5 Thiksey
Rise early for a sunrise visit to the famed Thiksey Monastery for a morning prayer ceremony. Later head to the beautiful Hemis Monastery, tucked away in a secluded valley.
Day 6 Thiksey to Diskit
Today it’s a long drive through rugged scenery and the remote Wari-La Pass, passing shepherds tending their pashmina goats, to reach 5* Chamba Camp Diskit. This luxury camp is an enchanting place to spend a few days amidst the dramatic glacial landscapes of the Nubra Valley.
Days 7-8 Diskit
Spend two days exploring this region, including a visit to the hidden lake of Yarab Tso and Turtuk, a remote frontier village nestled between the Shyok River and the high peaks of the Karakoram
mountain range.
Day 9 Diskit to Leh
The route back to Leh takes you over the Khardung-La Pass, considered to be the highest driveable road in the world.
Day 10 Leh to Delhi
Bid farewell to Ladakh’s mountain vistas as you take a flight back to Delhi for a night.
Day 11 Delhi
Transfer to the airport for your flight home. Alternatively, ask your consultant about adding our Dharamsala & Amritsar Extension.
