Itinerary
Days 1-2 Delhi
Arrive in Delhi and discover the sights and sounds of India’s bustling capital city with a half day sightseeing tour.
Day 3 Delhi to Leh
Fly to Leh, gateway to the Ladakh region. Leh is set high up in the Himalayas and was once an important trading post on the legendary Silk Road. The afternoon is at leisure to acclimatise.
Day 4 Leh
Head out for a full day tour of Leh and its surrounds. Visit the abandoned palace complex of Sheh, the famed Thiksey Monastery, beautiful Hemis monastery and Stok Palace.
Day 5 Sham Valley
Today you’ll enjoy an excursion to the Sham Valley, west of Leh. Pass the curious landscape of Magnetic Hill, the confluence of the Zanskar and Indus rivers and visit the Alchi Gompa, a Tibetan Buddhist monastery which dates back a thousand years.
Day 6 Leh to Diskit
Journey north over the Khardung-La Pass (5,580m), considered to be the highest driveable road in the world. View the vast Hunder sand dunes in the Nubra Valley, before time to unwind in your tented camp.
Day 7 Turtuk
Enjoy a day of incredible scenery as you travel to the quaint village of Turtuk, nestled between the Shyok River and the high peaks of the Karakoram Mountain range, close to the Pakistan border. Explore this frontier hamlet before returning to your camp.
Day 8 Diskit to Pangong Lake
This morning visit the Diskit Gompa monastery, perched high on a hill before continuing to your simple camp close to Pangong Lake. Enjoy the enthralling views of this turquoise-coloured lake, situated at an altitude of almost 4,350m with a magnificent mountain backdrop.
Day 9 Pangong Lake to Leh
Drive back to Leh via another high mountain pass.
Day 10 Leh to Delhi
Bid farewell to Ladakh andfly back to Delhi for a night.
Day 11 Delhi
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
