Itinerary
Day 1 Bath
Once you’ve arrived
in Bath, drop off your bags and head out to explore this fascinating city.
Start at the iconic Roman Baths, for which the city is named. Walk around
The Great Bath, learn about the Roman Temple, which once stood here, and
admire the impressive collection of Roman artefacts. Afterwards, step next
door to the 18th Century Pump Room for a traditional afternoon tea or for
a drink of the mineral-rich spa water. Later, head to the impressive Pulteney
Bridge, where you’ll find a plethora of shops and restaurants to explore.
Day 2 Bath
Start today at
the iconic Royal Crescent. This curved terrace is the epitome of Georgian
elegance and grandeur; recreate your favourite period drama as you promenade
past the distinctive honey-coloured houses. For those Austenites, head
for the Jane Austen Centre to learn about the author’s life in Bath and
visit the historic Assembly Rooms, which feature in two of her novels.
This afternoon, why not visit Bath’s Fashion Museum, home to a vast collection
of fashion through the ages, or perhaps settle in at one of the city’s
many cosy cafés for a bite to eat.
Day 3 Bath
If you have time
this morning, visit the Skyline Walk, situated just a short stroll from
the centre. This 6-mile circular trail ambles through picturesque meadows
and ancient woodlands and offers spectacular views over the city. Or if
you’re after something a little gentler, opt for a relaxing boat ride
along the River Avon, which flows through the heart of Bath, before starting
your journey home.
