Itinerary

Day 1  Edinburgh
After arriving in the capital, drop off your bags at your hotel before heading out to explore this vibrant city. Start in Edinburgh’s historic Old Town; admire the magnificent architecture of The Royal Mile or perhaps head for the famous Victoria Street, lined by colourful shop fronts and thought to be the inspiration behind the magical Diagon Alley in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter series. This evening, indulge in some delicious, local cuisine at one of Edinburgh’s outstanding restaurants.

Day 2  Edinburgh
This morning, delve in the country’s long history at the National Museum of Scotland? After a spot of lunch, why not visit Edinburgh’s iconic castle, perched overlooking the city on Castle Rock? Take some time to explore its extensive grounds or join a guided tour through the castle. End the day in style at one of the city’s many whisky bars and enjoy a dram of your favourite malt.

Day 3  Edinburgh
After a wander through Edinburgh’s Georgian New Town this morning, head to picturesque Holyrood Park, home to a plethora of paths and trails to follow. If you’re feeling adventurous and weather permitting, climb up the famous Arthur’s Seat. Or, if you’re after something a little gentler, visit the Palace of Holyroodhouse, standing at the end of the Royal Mile. This grand palace is the King’s official residence in Edinburgh and has played host to generations of Scottish royalty, from Mary Queen of Scots to Bonnie Prince Charlie.

Day 4  Edinburgh
On your last morning in Edinburgh, why not visit the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens to the north of the city centre? Or if you’re up for one last taste of adventure, head up Calton Hill for an iconic view of the city skyline. Later, head to one of Edinburgh’s many cosy cafés for a bite to eat before bidding farewell to this breathtaking city and beginning your journey home.
