Itinerary
Day 1 Istanbul
Transfer to your hotel and take in some of the historical treasures of Istanbul on a guided tour including the Blue Mosque.
Day 2 Istanbul to Canakkale
After breakfast drive to Canakkale, on the shores of the Dardanelles Strait. Tour the battlefields and cemeteries including a visit to Anzac Cove and the poignant memorials of Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair.
Days 3-4 Canakkale to Selcuk
On day 3, see the ancient city of Troy, where legend and history fuse together. On day 4, visit the incomparable Ephesus and walk the streets once inhabited by Cleopatra. Afterwards, enjoy a cookery class and wine tasting at Sirince.
Day 5 Selcuk to Pamukkale
Travel to Pamukkale, which means ‘Cotton Castle’. Created by thermal water deposits over hundreds of years the myriad of pools and terraces are a sight to behold.
Days 6-7 Pamukkale to Kas
Continue to Kas and explore on a walking tour. Kas is strewn with the remains of Lycian tombs and white-washed walls covered with climbing bougainvillea. On day 7 embark on a sailing trip, where you can cool off with a swim in the turquoise waters.
Days 8-9 Kas to Antalya
After a scenic drive, arrive in Antalya and head out on an afternoon walk. See Hadrian’s Gate, the Old Roman Harbour and more stunning views of the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. On day 9 take a guided visit through the Antalya Museum, before a free afternoon.
Day 10 Antalya to Konya
Continue on to Konya, an ancient city important in the Roman era and where the Sufi practice of ‘whirling’ was born.
Days 11-13 Konya to Cappadocia
Arrive in Cappadocia by late afternoon, with time to see the main village. Step into a fairytale during an Intrepid Feature Stay at a unique cave hotel, where you’ll enjoy elegantly decorated rooms carved from stone. The next morning, perhaps take an optional hot air balloon over the otherworldly landscape. After a relaxing breakfast see the incredible houses, churches and monasteries at the Goreme Open Air Museum. On day 13 take a morning walk through Kizilcukur, arguably the most beautiful valley in Cappadocia to see fascinating rock formations such as cones, peaks and fairy chimneys. After lunch, explore Ozkonak, an ancient underground city.
Days 14-15 Cappadocia to Istanbul
