Itinerary
Day 1 Zurich to Interlaken
Arrive into Zurich and take your first rail journey to the mountain resort of Interlaken.
Days 2-3 Interlaken
Explore the beautiful scenery of the Bernese Oberland. With your included Swiss Travel Pass, take a scenic cruise across the idyllic lakes of Brienz, known for its emerald colour, and Thun, stopping at the quaint lakeside villages and castles.
Days 4-5 Interlaken to Montreux
Join the panoramic GoldenPass Express to Montreux, set on the shores of Lake Geneva. Spend a day cruising the lake on board a traditional steamboat, getting off in Lausanne to explore the medieval streets before the short train journey back to Montreux.
Days 6-7 Zermatt
After a leisurely morning, take the train to Zermatt. Surrounded by awe-inspiring mountains, including the famous Matterhorn, Zermatt offers the chance to immerse yourself in the stunning scenery. Be sure to take the scenic Gornergrat Bahn for spectacular views of the Matterhorn whilst enjoying a cocktail or two!
Day 8 Zermatt to St Moritz
A real highlight awaits today, as you take the iconic Glacier Express. Settle into your Excellence Class carriage and admire unforgettable views through the domed panoramic windows while indulging in a five course lunch with wine.
Day 9 St Moritz
Home of the prestigious Snow Polo World Cup, St Moritz is a glamorous resort town. Perhaps enjoy a peaceful cruise across the town’s namesake lake or browse the boutique lined streets.
Day 10 St Moritz to Lugano
Board the Bernina Express, considered Switzerland’s most scenic route, passing snow-capped mountains and crossing into Italy en route to the quaint town of Tirano. Take a wander round the charming town and perhaps enjoy a delicious Italian lunch before boarding the Bernina Express Bus for a comfortable drive back into Switzerland and on to Lugano.
Day 11 Lugano
So close to Italy, Lugano will feel as if you’re staying in the Italian Lakes. Enjoy delicious Italian cuisine and take a scenic cruise across Lake Lugano, marvelling at the towering mountains that surround the glistening waters.
Day 12 Lugano to Lucerne
Today, embark on a wonderful journey through central Switzerland on the Gotthard Panorama Express. Whilst on board learn about the rich history, myths and legends around Gotthard. On reaching Flüelen, board an elegant boat for a leisurely three hour cruise across beautiful Lake Lucerne.
Days 13-14 Lucerne
Spend two days exploring the outdoor adventure playground surrounding Lucerne. Take the Mount Rigi cable car for stunning vistas and join the world’s steepest cogwheel railway up Mount Pilatus. At the summit, Switzerland’s longest toboggan run awaits, along with enthralling hikes.
Day 15 Lucerne to Zurich
Take your final train journey back to Zurich for your onward flight.
