Itinerary
Day 1 Svalbard
Arrive into Longyearbyen airport and transfer to your hotel in the town centre. Once you’ve checked in, head out to explore the local shops and restaurants or, if there’s time, visit the Svalbard Museum to learn about the history, flora and fauna of this fascinating region.
Days 2-3 Svalbard
Time for two days of action-packed activities in the dramatic Arctic desert. Head off dog sledding along the valley floor, watching out for reindeer and arctic foxes in the surrounding peaks. Take a Snowcat tour to the vast ice caves in the mountains overlooking the town. Kitted out with helmets, head lamps and crampons, you can explore the sparkling caverns created by the vast glacier.
Spend an evening relaxing beside the fire at Camp Barentz Cabin, located away from the bright lights of town, look out for the Northern Lights as you hear stories of the explorers who discovered the Svalbard Archipelago and dine on delicious traditional stew.
Day 4 Svalbard
Enjoy a morning at leisure or perhaps one more activity before you are taken to the airport for your onward flight.
Additional Options: Why not extend your stay with an extra night in Longyearbyen? Alternatively, combine with a stay in the arctic capital of Tromsø. Just ask your Trailfinders travel consultant for details.
