Itinerary
Day 1 Porto, Portugal
Welcome to Portugal. Arrive in to Porto and make your way to the hotel
for a welcome meeting at 6pm.
Day 2 Porto to Baiona, Spain
Transfer to Oia in north-western Spain where you will begin your Camino
with a walk to the seaside town of Baiona. Visit the Monte Real fortress
and enjoy some local seafood before starting the main journey tomorrow.
Days 3-4 Baiona to Vigo
Hug the coastline as you pass beautiful seascapes on the trail to Vigo,
your base for the next two nights. Day four will be spent exploring the
city at your leisure, perhaps strolling around the picturesque parquet
Monte del Castro or visiting the ruins of the Castro Fortress.
Day 5 Vigo to Redondela
Continue the Camino along the coast and take in the last views of the beautiful
Bay of Vigo before arriving at your base for the night in Redondela.
Day 6 Redondela to Pontevedra
Finish the coastal section of the walk by heading to the town of Pontevedra.
On the way you will stop in to the fishing village of Arcade for an included
lunch where you could try some delicious oysters and local wine.
Day 7 Pontevedra to Caldas de Rei
Make your way through chestnut groves and eucalyptus woods as you head
inland towards your next stop in Caldas de Rei, passing by the rectory
of Santa Maria de Alba in Ponte Cabras and the statue of Saint James in
Lombo da Maceria along the way.
Day 8 Caldas de Rei to Padron
Depart from Caldas de Rei and cross the river Umia to find the hot springs
that give the town its name. Continue on towards your stop for the night
in Padron, enjoying an included visit to a nearby bodega to learn about
the history of local wine along the way.
Day 9 Padron to Santiago de Compostela
Embark on your final day of walking through small villages and castle ruins
before arriving at the Plaza del Obadoiro which lies just before the Cathedral
of Santiago de Compostela. After collecting your certificate you can wander
around the historic quarter of the city before enjoying a celebratory dinner
with your group.
Day 10 Santiago de Compostela
Depart any time after breakfast.
