Day 1 Podgorica
Arrive into Podgorica, Montenegro’s modern capital and transfer to your hotel, your base to explore this interesting city. This afternoon, soak up Podgorica’s laidback charm and eclectic mix of architecture. There’s also plenty of bars and restaurants in downtown Nova Varos district to find a bite to eat this evening.
Day 2 Podgorica
Today, why not visit Stara Varos, the city’s oldest neighbourhood. This historic area bears some of the vestiges of Podgorica’s Ottoman era. Look out for the clock tower still standing in the main square and the impressive Osmanagic mosque. Visit the fortress ruins perched above the Ribnica River and the old Turkish bridge below. This afternoon, perhaps visit The Natural History Museum of Montenegro, where you can learn about Montenegro’s flora, fauna and fossils.
Day 3 Podgorica
Today, perhaps take a walk along the impressive Millennium Bridge, straddling the Moraca River or visit the majestic Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ, which features impressive architecture, elaborate frescoes and colourful mosaics. Take a break this afternoon with a refreshing drink as you experience the city’s vibrant café culture.
Day 4 Podgorica to Tivat
This morning transfer to Tivat, a vibrant marina resort nestled in the majestic Bay of Kotor. This sparkling blue inlet is one of Montenegro’s natural gems and Tivat is a fantastic base for exploring this fascinating landscape. This afternoon, explore Tivat’s lively marina, Porto Montenegro, which offers an impressive range of upmarket boutiques, as well as bars and restaurants.
Days 5-6 Tivat
Why not spend some time relaxing beside the crystal clear Adriatic on one of Tivat’s lovely beaches? Or perhaps explore Kotor Old Town. This UNESCO-listed, medieval town features traditional red-roofed, honey-coloured houses, cobblestone alleys and picturesque piazzas.
Day 7 Montenegro Countryside
Today head out on your tour and learn about life in the Montenegrin countryside. Meet a local family and try some of the national cuisines while enjoying a glass of local wine or brandy. Enjoy the panoramic mountain top of Lovcen National Park and a photo stop of the Sveti Stefan island before ending with a walking tour of Kotor old city.
