Itinerary
Day 1 London to Brussels
Board the Eurostar at St Pancras Station and travel through the Channel Tunnel and France before arriving into Brussels before lunch. Drop your bags off at your hotel and head to the spectacular Grand Place; the city’s central historic square is surrounded by opulent guild houses and Art Nouveau architecture. North of the square sits another, yet slightly more comical, famous landmark - the Manneken Pis; Brussels’ rebellious mascot. Make sure you stop by one of the nearby waffle shops for a delicious and indulgent Belgian delight!
Day 2 Brussels
This morning begins with a visit to the shiny Atomium, a giant iron crystal sculpture offering fantastic views over the city. From here, there are a wide range of exciting ways to spend your second day in Brussels; head to gothic St Michael and St Gudula Cathedral, stroll through the Parc du Cinquantenaire arch, take a whistle-stop tour of ‘mini Europe’ or visit one of over 80 museums! After working up an appetite you’ll find an overwhelming choice of restaurants for dinner. Frites and beer are a popular no-fuss combo, and make sure you find a chocolatier for that all important dessert.
Day 3 Brussels to Bruges
After a leisurely breakfast make the short one hour train journey to your next stop, Bruges. Once checked-in at your hotel, it’s time to explore the scenic pathways and pretty canals this pocket-sized city is most known for. Perhaps treat yourself to a giant mug of delicious hot chocolate as you walk, or take a canal tour; the best views of Bruges are from the water.
Day 4 Bruges
Grab your camera because today is all about sightseeing. Your first stop is Markt Square, home to the iconic Belfry Tower where you can brave the 366 step climb to the top for fantastic views over the city. Nearby Burg Square showcases a variety of architectural styles across beautiful buildings such as the Town Hall and the Basilica of the Holy Blood, and the Church of our Lady which dominates the city skyline is home to the treasured Madonna and Child sculpture by Michelangelo. After a busy day exploring there’s no better way to spend the evening than sampling local beer at an old-style brewery. Cheers!
Day 5 Bruges to London
On your final morning, enjoy a visit to Minnewater aka the ‘Lake of Love’, dubbed one of the most romantic spots in Bruges. This afternoon board your return journey back to London, connecting in Brussels.
