Itinerary
Day 1 Verona
Drop off your bags at your hotel before heading out to explore this fantastic city. Begin with a visit to the magnificent Roman amphitheatre; with its intricately carved arches and well preserved seating, the amphitheatre still hosts large concerts and plays today. This evening, why not sample the local cuisine at one of the many restaurants lining the lively Piazza Bra?
Days 2 Verona
Today, walk in the footsteps of Shakespeare’s star-crossed lovers. Start with a visit to the iconic Casa di Giulietta to marvel at Juliet’s balcony, before strolling along the Adige River for a view of the impressive Castelvecchio Bridge, complete with its recognisable angular battlements. Later, head to the pretty Basilica di San Zeno Maggiore, rumoured to be the site of Romeo and Juliet’s secret wedding.
Day 3 Venice Simplon-Orient-Express
This morning, enjoy a last wander through the city’s historic centre before settling into your private cabin aboard the luxurious Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. Savour a delicious afternoon tea as you journey through the picturesque Italian countryside. Tonight, enjoy an exquisite four course dinner in one of the decadent 1920s restaurant cars.
Day 4 Venice Simplon-Orient-Express
Awake to scenic views of rugged mountains framing the lush French countryside and dine upon a sumptuous breakfast in your private cabin. Disembark the train, drop your bags at your hotel and head out to wander through the winding cobbled streets of the historic Montmartre neighbourhood, famous for the iconic Moulin Rouge windmill and Vincent van Gogh’s home. End your day nearby at the striking Sacré-Coeur Basilica for panoramic city views.
Day 5 Paris
Spend today exploring this romantic city. Visit the famed Louvre Museum to search for the renowned Mona Lisa painting, climb the Eiffel Tower for spectacular views and enjoy photographing the majestic façade of the Notre-Dame Cathedral. Why not end your day in style at one of the sophisticated cocktail bars of Le Marais?
Day 6 Paris
End your trip this morning with a stroll down the bustling Champs-Élysées to admire the magnificent Arc de Triomphe. Indulge with a final freshly baked pastry before transferring to the airport for your flight home.
