Itinerary
Day 1 San Quirico d’Orcia
Arrive in the hilltop town of San Quirico D’Orcia, this beautiful medieval town is your home for two nights.
Day 2 Via Francigena
Follow an ancient pilgrimage route on this morning’s circular ride. Head first to the charming town of Pienza before making your way to Montepulciano, famous for its Vino Nobile. Finally, cycle through the medieval village of Monticchiello and the spa town of Bagno Vignoni to complete a memorable ride through rural Tuscany.
Day 3 San Quirico d’Orcia to Siena
Today’s route includes quiet rides and begins with a short ride to Montalcino. Then descend on gravel roads to the walled town of Murlo, before ascending over the steep Rospatoio Pass reaching the beautiful and historic city of Siena.
Day 4 Siena
Siena is a marvellous city and today is free for you to explore at your own leisure. It’s full of historic treasures and hidden coffee shops and is a delight to wander around.
Day 5 Siena to Castellina in Chianti
Leave the city behind and head into the heart of the world-famous Chianti region. Pass through lovely small villages and enjoy views of the spectacular vineyards and castles. You’ll also visit Gaiole and Radda in Chianti, two of the region’s best loved villages. The last stop is Castellina in Chianti where you’ll spend two nights.
Day 6 San Gimignano
The highlight of today’s circular ride is undoubtedly San Gimignano. Enjoy a scenic ride to this small town, where there’s a few hours free to discover the sights for yourself. On your return there is a long but scenic climb before you reach Castellina for a well deserved gelato.
Day 7 Castellina in Chianti to Florence
Enjoy a final ride in this beautiful landscape to Panzano and Greve in Chianti where there’s time for lunch. From here, head towards Florence and cycle all the way to Piazzale Michelangelo where there’s time to pose for a celebratory group photo. You’ll arrive early afternoon, giving time to explore this magnificent city.
Day 8 Florence
Your tour ends this morning in Florence.
