Itinerary
Day 1 Florence
Arrive into the capital of Italy’s Tuscany region and take your private transfer to your hotel, located in the centre of Florence. Home to multiple masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture, spend the afternoon walking through the historic streets, making sure to stop off at typical trattoria for your first taste of Italian cuisine.
Day 2 Florence
Filled with some of the most famous museums in the world you’ll be spoiled for choice when deciding what to visit first. Perhaps take in works of Botticelli in the Uffizi Gallery or admire the marbled beauty of Michelangelo’s David. After a morning of culture, roll up your sleeves in your included cookery class under the watchful eye of a local chef. Learn top tips as you make pizza and authentic Italian ice cream before eating your tasty creations.
Day 3 Pisa
Today, why not take the train to Pisa to see the iconic Leaning Tower. Explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site, making sure you get that perfect picture holding up the tower yourself! Back in Florence why not spend your final evening climbing the steps of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore for breathtaking views of the city.
Day 4 Florence to Rural Tuscany
Pick up your car from the city and begin the journey south into the rolling hills of Tuscany. Drive through fortress towns and past vine-clad fields before arriving at your traditional villa, a beautiful retreat for the next seven nights.
Days 5-7 Rural Tuscany
With the flexibility of a car you can decide how to spend your time in this idyllic region. Visit Italy’s most intact Gothic city, Siena or the nearby hill-town of San Gimignano. With natural beauty on your doorstep, why not take the opportunity to rent bikes and cycle the small roads linking the surrounding towns and hamlets. Although there is plenty to see and do in this area, keep some time spare to relax by the pool and make the most of your private villa.
Days 8-10 Rural Tuscany
If you want to see some of the beautiful Italian coastline, drive down to the Parco della Maremma. This coastal area in the south of Tuscany boasts long stretches of sandy beaches alongside rugged forest filled with wildlife. For your last night in your villa, treat yourself to a private chef who can cook you a wonderful meal using the best local ingredients, while you sit back and relax.
Day 11 Rural Tuscany to Florence
After your final breakfast, drive back to Florence airport to drop off your car and catch your onward flight.
