Itinerary

Day 1  Florence        
Touch down into Florence and start exploring this wonderful city’s maze of cobbled streets, picturesque piazzas and magnificent architecture. This evening, enjoy the relaxed alfresco dining scene with your first freshly-made, authentic pizza and a glass of local red wine.        

Day 2  Florence        
Start today with Florence’s most iconic sight, the Duomo. Skip the queues with your included ticket and climb to the top of the cupola for stunning views over the city. Re-fuel with a creamy gelato at one of the quaint cafes lining the Piazza della Republica before visiting the Uffizi Gallery, celebrated for its world-class Renaissance art collection. End the day with a stroll along the River Arno to capture the sun setting over the medieval Ponte Vecchio.        

Days 3-5  Tuscany        
Pick up your car and drive through the lush hills of Tuscany to your next hotel. Spend the next few days exploring the property’s idyllic surroundings of scenic vineyards, charming villages and rolling hills. Sample some of the distinguished wine at one of the many vineyards and relax by the pool in the sunshine. If you’re feeling active, explore the undulating countryside by bicycle, stopping to take in the glorious views.    

Days 6-7  Siena
Take your time to wonder through the narrow streets of Siena, absorbing the sensational atmosphere of this magical city and stopping into charming shops along the way. Embrace Gothic architecture, cobblestone lanes and one of the most awe-inspiring cathedrals in Europe on your guided walking tour as you learn about Renaissance era popes and emperors.  

Day 8  Gubbio  
Arrive into the medieval town of Gubbio. Visit the striking main cathedral, the Basilica of Saint Ubaldo, perched atop Mount Ignino, from where you can observe stunning vistas of the countryside, below. Afterwards, explore the incredible medieval Palazzo dei Consoli, originally designed as a space to carry out civic duties. Within the palace sits the fascinating Museo Civico which contains artefacts from prehistoric times up to the 20th Century. Enjoy a crisp panini for lunch before spending the afternoon at leisure.

Days 9-10  Assisi
Take a leisurely drive to the beautiful hilltop town of Assisi, a UNESCO world heritage and long-standing Catholic pilgrimage site. Spend your time visiting Assisi’s most iconic sites, including the famous Basilica of Saint Francis and the stunning Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels. Feel the moving ambience of the grand baroque cathedral, as you explore the original chapel of Saint Francis, which contains symbolic relics, and admire the buildings impressive artwork.

Days 11-12  Perugia        
Arrive into Umbria’s capital, Perugia. The city is known for its fascinating Etruscan heritage, renaissance masterpieces, and lively student energy. Once settled into your comfortable city centre hotel, tuck into a sumptuous pasta dish at one of the charming restaurants found in Piazza IV Novembre, a vibrant square where you will find locals gathered. Enjoy a private walking tour, taking in the top sights and charms of the historic centre. The tour starts with a visit to the incredible underground fortress of Rocca Paolini, which spans miles of weaving passages. Next, stop by one of the most beautiful medieval fountains in Italy, Fontana Maggiore, before ending your tour at Perugia’s Duomo, featuring ornate gothic architecture.
Day 13  Perugia
Savour a final Italian espresso before dropping off your car for your onward flight.
