Itinerary

Day 1  Cagliari
Arrive in Cagliari and transfer to Cabras in the Sinis Peninsula for a two night stay.

Day 2  San Salvatore Sinis
Jump in the saddle for a circular ride in this beautiful area. Cross the fascinating Sinis wetlands and spot the flamingo colony, before reaching the coast at Mari Ermi. Continue down the peninsula to Tharros, an ancient Roman city and one of the island’s most important archaeological sites, before heading back to your hotel.

Day 3  San Salvatore Sinis to Piscinas
Today’s coastal ride follows the Costa Verde, named after the green, wild vegetation that covers much of the mountainous surroundings. Transfer by road to Arborea, before cycling across picturesque farmland to the fishing village of Marceddi. Continue to Piscinas and admire the huge sand dunes, some of which reach up to 50 metres. From here, it’s a steady climb to tonight’s accommodation set in the hills overlooking the Monte Linas Range.

Day 4  Piscinas to Nebida
Start the day with a fantastic and exciting descent to the Mannu River, where you’ll see some of the remote golden beaches around Portixeddu. Cycle past the abandoned mines of Pranu Sartu and the lovely inlet at Cala Domestica, before climbing high to Pan di Zucchero for lovely views and finally, the former mining village of Nebida.

Day 5  Nebida to Sant’Antioco
Enjoy a leisurely descent to Fontanamare and follow an undulating coastal road to Portoscuso. Cycle to the harbour and board a local ferry to Carlofote, a fishing village on Isola di San Pietro. There’s time to explore this beautiful little island before taking another ferry to Sant’Antioco, another gloriously unspoilt island.

Day 6  Sant’Antioco to Sant’Anna Arresi
Cycle through the lush meadows of Sant’Antioco, before returning to the mainland. Visit the sanctuary at Tratalias, dating back to the Romanesque period. Follow the shoreline of the Monte Pranu Lake and ride the quiet country lanes to Sant’Anna Arresi. Nearby are the pinewoods, lagoons and beaches of Porto Pino.

Day 7  Sant’Anna Arresi to Cagliari
Pedal across the beautiful countryside of the Costa del Sud, a wild region of gleaming white beaches, coastal pools and imposing high cliffs. Cycle as far as Cape Teulada, at Sardinia’s southern tip, offering a dramatic setting of sheer cliff faces and crystal-clear sea. Afterwards, transfer by road to Cagliari for a farewell dinner.

Day 8  Cagliari
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Departs: Selected departures Apr - Jun & Sep - Oct.
