Itinerary
Day 1 Rome
Arrive in Rome and begin exploring this imperial city. Later, meet your fellow travellers and Travel Director for a welcome reception.
Day 2 Rome
Embark on a sightseeing tour of the Vatican Museums, taking in the magnificent Sistine Chapel and the Bramante Staircase, before enjoying a guided visit to the Forum and Colosseum. The afternoon is at leisure to explore further.
Days 3-4 Rome to Sorrento
Journey to the well-preserved ruins of Pompeii for a guided tour with a local expert. Later, head to the clifftop town of Sorrento where you can choose to take a scenic drive along the Amalfi Coast. On day 4 enjoy an excursion by ferry to the glamorous island of Capri before returning to Sorrento.
Day 5 Sorrento to Assisi
Visit the beautiful Abbey of Cassino en route to the mystical town of Assisi. Take a guided tour of the Basilica of St Francis before staying overnight at a renovated old Franciscan monastery.
Days 6-7 Assisi to Venice
Drive through the stunning Italian countryside towards Venice. Soak up the sights and sounds of the city by private boat before watching a glassmaking demonstration and visiting the impressive St Mark’s Square.
Days 8-9 Venice to Lake Como
Today, travel through the picturesque cities of Verona and Milan as you continue on to the beautiful Lake Como and visit the historical quarter before enjoying dinner on a secluded island on Lake Maggiore.
Day 10 Lake Como to Florence
Take the opportunity to snap a photo of the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa before arriving in the majestic city of Florence. Opt to dine out in the Tuscan Hills this evening to sample local delicacies, homemade pasta and local Italian wine.
Day 11 Florence
Join a local specialist as you uncover the exquisite art and architecture of Florence. Marvel at the elegant Duomo, and cross the medieval Ponte Vecchio bridge.
Days 12-13 Florence to Rome
Visit the charming Tuscan town of San Gimignano before enjoying farewell dinner in Rome. Your trip comes to an end on day 13.
