Itinerary

Day 1  Arrive in Reykjavik
Arrive into Keflavik airport and make your way to your hotel in the city centre. Enjoy an afternoon exploring the city sights, from the charming harbour walkway to the imposing Hallgrimskirkja church.

Day 2  Reykjavik
This morning you’ll sail out to sea on an exciting whale watching tour. The waters around Iceland are home to a wide variety of whale species and tours out of Reykjavik offer some of the best opportunities to see these magnificent mammals in action.

Day 3  Reykjavik
Head back out on the water, this time in search of Iceland’s most iconic residents, the fascinating puffin. Iceland boasts one of the world’s largest colonies of these attractive birds and a boat tour out to their nesting islands is the ideal way to view them without disturbing the natural balance.

Day 4  Reykjavik to the Golden Circle
Today you’ll pick up a car and drive to the centre of the breathtaking scenery of the Golden Circle. This afternoon perhaps take a hike to Reykjadalur geothermal river. Surrounded by mountains, this hidden spring is the perfect spot to bathe in the natural hot waters.

Days 5-6  Golden Circle
Enjoy 2 days exploring the natural wonders of this incredible landscape. Pay a visit to the magnificent waterfalls of Gullfoss, Skogafoss and Seljalandsfoss, where you can walk the whole way behind the flowing waters. Take a hike in Thingvellir National Park, visiting the site where two of the Earth’s tectonic plates are pulling apart and stop off and wonder at the dramatic eruptions of Geysir, surrounded by bubbling boreholes and sulphurous streams.

Day 7  Depart Golden Circle
Make your way back towards the city, stopping for a relaxing soak in the famous turquoise waters of the Blue Lagoon. Enjoy a silica mud mask and a drink from the swim up bar before driving to the airport to drop off your car in time for your onward flight.
