Explore Crete with Domes Resorts

Day 1  Domes Zeen Chania    
Welcome to Crete, home to 1046km of coastline, the birthplace to cultural icons and the famous Minoan labyrinth. Arrive at Chania airport and transfer to your home for the next five nights. After checking in, why not take advantage of some of the hotel’s luxurious facilities? Bask in the sun on the resort’s private beach as you listen to the soothing waves lapping on the shore, unwind in the unique outdoor jungle spa or watch the sun dip over the horizon with a refreshing beverage as your incredible holiday commences.  
   
Days 2-5  Domes Zeen Chania    
Over the following few days, choose to explore Crete’s old capital, one of the oldest settlements in the world. Head over to the old town and admire the iconic centrepiece of the Old Venetian Harbour, surrounded by picturesque, colourful cafés and restaurants, the red Firkas Fortress and the Islamic architecture of the Yali Tzami. Opt to venture further afield and discover the scenic beauty of Balos Lagoon, one of the most photographed areas of Crete, or journey to the pretty White Mountains Forest Preserve. A variety of hiking trails can be found, each providing breathtaking views of ravines, abandoned village ruins and gorges including the 18km Samaria gorge. Alternatively, uncover the spectacular wine regions in the area and treat yourself to some wine tasting.    

Day 6  Domes Zeen Chania to Domes of Elounda    
After a leisurely breakfast, check out of Domes Zeen Chania and take your transfer to the lovely Domes of Elounda which is nestled away in a charming, secluded bay, surrounded by aromatic olive groves with stunning views of the Venetian castle on Spinalonga Isle. Upon arrival, check in and start to make use of the resort’s fantastic facilities. Head straight to the sandy beach, soak up the rays and take a dip in the alluring turquoise sea or decide to relax by one of the four wonderful pools as you decompress after your journey.  This evening, dine in one of the elegant restaurants and enjoy some tasty local cuisine.  

Days 7-10  Domes of Elounda  
If you are feeling active, spend the next few days experiencing all the east side of the island has to offer. Decide to take a boat over to Spinalonga Isle to explore the fortress and enjoy the panoramic views from the top. Head over to Sitia’s UNESCO Geo Park to find a myriad of hiking trails and travel to Lasethi Plateau, high in the Dikti Mountains and rumoured to be Zeus’ birthplace for delightful views or visit the Greek mythology park. Immerse yourself further into the local mythology and stop by the Minoan Palace of Knossos or admire some exquisite artwork by El Greco at one of the historic museums. If you prefer to stay close by, choose to make use of the watersports facilities on offer at the hotel and enjoy snorkelling in the clear blue sea.    

Day 11  Domes of Elounda  
Enjoy a lazy breakfast and perhaps a final swim in the pool, before checking out and heading to the airport for your onward journey.
