Berlin Languages School Trip

Day 1 Arrive in Berlin    
Welcome to Berlin! Meet your tour leader and after a short welcome meeting, embark on a walking tour of Berlin.      

Day 2 Berlin      
Continue your educational journey with a visit to Sachsenhausen Memorial Camp. In 1936, the SS built the Sachsenhausen concentration camp on the outskirts of the town of Oranienburg. By 1945, more than 200,00 people from all over Europe were imprisoned here. On today’s guided tour, you will get a deeper understanding of what went on behind these fences. After returning to Berlin get a bird’s eye view of the city from the observation deck of the Berlin TV Tower.      

Day 3 Berlin      
Today the focus of the programme will shift to the Cold War in which Berlin played a historic role. Experience the time of Kennedy, Khrushchev, Gorbachev, and Reagan, when the USA and USSR came face to face every day, when there were guards standing over the Berlin Wall, and escape tunnels running beneath it. Dive into Berlin’s divided days and take a hard look at life with communism, secret police, and the Berlin Wall. In the afternoon get a hands-on experience of the history during a visit to the DDR Museum. The DDR Museum illustrates everyday life in a dictatorship, as well as the sphere of governmental institutions, the Stasi, the planned economy, or the Wall.
