Itinerary
Day 1 Zagreb
Head to your hotel for check in before spending the afternoon getting acquainted with the local area. This evening, enjoy a taste of Croatian nightlife and dine on delicious local flavours.
Day 2 Zagreb
Today explore this fascinating city in depth on your Zagreb Walking Tour. Start at the Upper Town at the imposing cathedral, learn about the areas turbulent history as you admire the colourful tiles on the roof of St Mark’s Church and ride the smallest funicular in the world. Later, spend the afternoon in the Lower Town where the winding streets make way for wide boulevards and beautiful gardens.
Day 3 Zagreb to Motovun
This morning pick up your car and drive out of the city towards Istria. En route stop off for lunch and a walk in the pastel hued resort town of Opatija, where colourful villas line the 12km of seafront promenade.
Day 4 Motovun
The hilltop town of Motovun sits like a fairytale castle in the middle of the peaceful countryside. The area is famous for black and white truffles and cuisine influenced by neighbouring Italy. Enjoy wandering along the charming streets and historic walls, soaking up the amazing views.
Day 5 Motovun to Rovinj
Drive on through the hills and valleys to reach the rugged west coast where peaceful pebble coves and picturesque towns greet the shore. Make your way to Rovinj and check in to your relaxing hotel before heading out for a gelato on the seafront.
Day 6 Rovinj
Enjoy a full day immersed in the delights of this pretty seaside town. Set on a tiny peninsula, the old town is compact and easily explored on foot. Make your way through winding streets, past quaint cafes and small boutiques to the bell tower at the hilltop. Here you will be rewarded with breathtaking views of the Adriatic.
Day 7 Rovinj
Why not take the opportunity to explore more of the area’s Roman and Venetian heritage? Istria’s rugged coastline offers a multitude of hidden coves and historic towns.
Day 8 Pula
Head to Pula for your final morning and visit the incredibly preserved Pula Arena, the sixth largest Roman amphitheatre in the world with space for 20,000 spectators. After your visit, drop your car at the airport in time for your onward flight.
