Itinerary
Day 1 Arrive
in Vienna
Arrive into Vienna
and transfer to your city centre hotel. This evening why not take a walk
through the charming city and sample some local specialties in an 18th
Century inn, known as a beisln. Often simple in design but providing the
most traditional dining experience.
Day 2 Wachau
Valley
This morning,
embark on a full day small group Wachau Valley Wine Tasting Tour from Vienna.
Visit a local wine tavern in the medieval town of Dürnstein, where Richard
the Lionheart was imprisoned in 1192, enjoy a traditional lunch (at own
expense) before a wander around the interesting town. Continue deeper into
the valley and enjoy an hour long cruise along the Danube River. Visit
a small local winery to sample regional specialities, Grüner Veltliner
and Riesling before returning to Vienna.
Day 3 Vienna
Food, Coffee & Market Tour
Start your morning
with a small group Vienna Food, Coffee & Market Tour. Your guide will
take you to hidden local markets, stopping for a snack or two along the
way and will educate you on the traditional Viennese coffee culture. This
afternoon, perhaps enjoy a walk around the picturesque city, take in some
of the historic sites such as Hofburg Palace, the official residence of
the President. Alternatively, visit a traditional café to sample sachertorte,
Viennese chocolate cake and coffee before watching the evening draw in.
Day 4 Depart
Vienna
For your final
morning, perhaps take a ride on the historical ferris wheel at Prater Gardens.
Later, transfer to the airport for your flight home.
