Itinerary
Day 1 Ishigaki Island
Reached by a three hour flight from Tokyo or Kyoto, Ishigaki Island is famous for its clear waters, undiscovered beaches and charming local character. On arrival transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 Ishigaki Island
Today explore the shopping streets of Ishigaki City, trying some of the local specialities such as the popular noodle dish of Yaeyama soba. Alternatively head to one of Ishigaki’s stunning beaches. With its clear, turquoise waters and offshore reefs, the island is home to some of Japan’s best diving and snorkelling spots. Why not join a diving excursion to witness the island’s most famous visitors, magnificent manta rays, which frequent the waters from Jun - Oct.
Day 3 Ishigaki Island
Relax on the beach or visit one of Ishigaki’s smaller island neighbours, easily reached by local ferry. Tiny Taketomi Island is home to a perfectly preserved Ryukyu village and is a charming place to stroll around. Slightly further away, Iriomote Island is one of Japan’s last wilderness areas, where dense jungles and mangrove forests cover almost 90% of the island. A paradise for nature lovers, this island offers fabulous forest hiking trails.
Day 4 Ishigaki Island
Transfer to the airport.
