Itinerary
Day 1 Tashkent
On arrival, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your hotel in Tashkent. Take the afternoon to relax before enjoying a welcome dinner with your fellow travellers.
Day 2 Tashkent to Fergana Valley
Embark on a thrilling journey through the ancient heart of Tashkent, visiting the awe-inspiring Khasti-Imam Complex and the historic Independence Square. This evening, enjoy a champagne reception and Karnay-Surnay performance on the platform before boarding the Golden Eagle and saying farewell to Tashkent.
Day 3 Fergana Valley
This morning, arrive in the enchanting Fergana Valley region and explore the majestic Palace of Khudayar Khan, before a short drive to Rishtan, a renowned ceramics hub where artistry and tradition meet. In the evening continue your rail adventure onwards to Bukhara.
Days 4-5 Bukhara
Over the next two days step into the enchanting world of Bukhara, visit the imposing Ark Fortress and Poi-Kalyan Square, home to the iconic Kalyan Mosque. Stroll through the vibrant bazaars, haggle for treasures, and experience delectable Bukharian cuisine in a truly unforgettable rooftop setting. The culinary adventure does not end there, on the train platform by the Golden Eagle enjoy a traditional Uzbek barbecue.
Day 6 Nukus
The city of Nukus boasts a captivating setting, surrounded by three magnificent deserts. Visit the Igor Savislky State Museum of the fine arts, regional archaeology and studies - Central Asia’s most extensive art collection.
Day 7 Khiva
Begin the day in ancient Khiva, a city adorned with grandeur. Here, visit Itchan Kala, the hallowed Old Town, celebrated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as well as the time-honoured Juma Mosque, built in the 10th century, before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant to try the Khorezmian cuisine.
Day 8 Samarkand
Today, visit the majestic palace, Ak-Saray Palace and UNESCO-honoured statue of Amir Timur, before enjoying a time-honoured folklore performance savouring an open-air barbecue feast that will tantalize your taste buds.
Days 9-10 Samarkand to Tashkent
Over the next two days explore the city of Samarkand, boasting an incredible history spanning over two and a half millennia, as you visit the awe-inspiring Registan Square and architecturally stunning Shakhi Zinda Necropolis. Later, immerse yourself into Uzbek identity with an interactive cooking class followed by a traditional Plov lunch. Late afternoon on Day 10 return to the train and enjoy a Gala Farewell Dinner as the train heads for Tashkent.
Day 11 Tashkent
Arrive in Tashkent where you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
