Itinerary
Days 1-2 Vancouver
Begin your adventure in cosmopolitan Vancouver and discover the highlights on a city tour including The Capilano Suspension Bridge.
Day 3 Vancouver to Powell River
Collect your car and drive to Horseshoe Bay for the ferry crossing to Langdale. Drive the rugged coastline of the Sunshine Coast and continue to Earls Cove for the ferry to Saltery Bay and the small community of Powell River.
Day 4 Powell River to Klahoose Wilderness Resort
Take a short drive to Lund for your boat transfer to 4★ Klahoose Wilderness Resort. Meet your hosts on arrival where you'll have the chance to review the activities on offer over the next few days. Settle into your room or explore the resort amenities before sitting down for a communal dinner.
Days 5-6 Klahoose Wilderness Resort
The next two days offer unforgettable bear viewing at this remote lodge located in Desolation Sound. Travel by boat to the Toba Inlet and observe grizzly bears fishing for salmon from fixed viewing platforms set along the river shore. Spend a thrilling day on an ocean kayaking trip or simply relax in the sun on the dock.
Day 7 Klahoose Wilderness Resort to Courtenay
It’s time to leave the lodge and take your boat transfer back to Lund. Drive to Powell River for your ferry to Comox on Vancouver Island. Continue on to Courtenay and use this as a base to explore the nearby wineries of Comox Valley.
Day 8 Courtenay to Tofino
Drive the width of Vancouver Island to the wildlife haven of Tofino and check in to the 3★ Tofino Resort & Marina. Located in the heart of town, enjoy a relaxed meal at the on site restaurant or why not choose from an array of local eateries, all within walking distance.
Days 9-10 Tofino
Experience a wealth of activities at your resort, making the most of its on site adventure centre. Witness magnificent whales breach as well as many other marineand bird wildlife on an included zodiac tour.
Day 11 Tofino to Parksville
Drive to Parksville, known for its wide tidal sand flats and natural beauty.
Day 12 Parksville to Victoria
Continue to Vancouver Island’s capital, Victoria.
Day 13 Victoria
Spend the day exploring the city’s beautiful Victorian architecture or visit nearby Butchart Gardens showcasing stunning floral displays and tranquil water features.
Day 14 Victoria to Vancouver
Make your way to Swartz Bay for the ferry back to Vancouver and drop off your car.
Days 15-16 Vancouver
Spend some time exploring this wonderful city before taking your return flight home.
Additional Options: For travel from May to late August, Klahoose Wilderness Resort offers a Summer Adventure package, showcasing an alternative experience than in bear viewing season, featuring kayaking, nature hikes and indigenous storytelling.
