Itinerary
Days 1-3 Toronto
Spend your first few days exploring cosmopolitan Toronto. Pay a visit to the CN Tower, where views are particularly impressive in winter, or perhaps keep warm in one of the city’s many museums, shops or restaurants. On day three pass through farms, lakes and rivers all blanketed in snow on a day trip to the mighty Niagara Falls. Once the temperatures dip these thundering falls begin to freeze, flaunting a stunning display of magnificent frozen icicles.
Day 4 Toronto to Ottawa
Journey through the rural Ontario countryside as you travel by train to the nation’s capital city of Ottawa.
Days 5-6 Ottawa
Explore the city on foot with a guided walk, then ice skate across the frozen Rideau Canal, catch an ice hockey match or sample tasty treats at ByWard Market. For a culture fix visit the historic Parliament Buildings, showcasing fascinating history and artefacts from across Canada and beyond.
Day 7 Ottawa to Québec City
Sit back and relax as you travel by train on this scenic journey into Québec before crossing the St Lawrence River as you arrive in Québec City.
Days 8-9 Québec City
Wrap up and get your bearings on a walking tour of charming Old Québec City, where the sound of French chatter floats above the cobblestone streets, before heading to Petit-Champlain, one of the most picturesque spots in the city. Perhaps spend the rest of your stay trying out different Québec City traditions such as tobogganing outside the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, relaxing at a Nordic spa or tasting sweet maple syrup frozen in snow!
Day 10 Québec City to Montréal
Today get back on board the train as you head south to the eclectic city of Montréal.
Days 11-13 Montréal
The best way to explore this vibrant city is on foot, even during the colder months! Wander around different food markets, along iconic Rue Saint-Paul and through the winding streets and plazas of Old Montréal, stopping off to marvel at the snow-covered Notre-Dame Basilica. You can also ice skate, cross country ski or simply play in the snow before your journey comes to an end.
