Itinerary
Day 1 Edmonton
Known as the festival city, Edmonton boasts an animated arts scene and long summer days.
Day 2 Elk Island NP
Located 40 minutes outside of Edmonton, Elk Island National Park is Canada’s largest enclosed national park. Home to an abundance of bison, elk and moose which roam freely, spend the day exploring before returning to your hotel in Edmonton.
Day 3 Edmonton to Jasper
Leave early this morning to drive to the scenic town of Jasper.
Day 4 Jasper
Relax and relish the scenery or take a cruise on Maligne Lake and enjoy the majestic waterfalls of Jasper National Park.
Day 5 Jasper
Why not spend today exploring the area in the side-car of a Harley-Davidson? An exciting and unique way to see the natural wonders and abundant wildlife which surrounds Jasper.
Day 6 Jasper to Columbia Icefield
Travel south and break your journey with an overnight stop at 3H Glacier View Lodge (seep73), overlooking the Columbia Icefield. Enjoy an exclusive evening tour on the Athabasca Glacier, which is included in your stay.
Day 7 Columbia Icefield to Emerald Lake
Start your day with a tour to the Columbia Icefield Skywalk for unrivalled mountain views. Later continue your drive to 3H Emerald Lake Lodge (see p73) within the beautiful Yoho National Park.
Day 8 Emerald Lake
Relax overlooking the beautiful lake or enjoy one of the scenic hiking trails, before perhaps renting a canoe for inspiring panoramas of the mountainous landscape.
Day 9 Emerald Lake to Banff
Drive down to the pretty alpine town of Banff, arriving in time for a Cowboy Cookout dinner.
Day 10 Banff
Explore charming Banff, before soaking in the famous hot springs or enjoying a gentle hike on one of the surrounding local trails, taking in the stunning views as you go.
Day 11 Banff
Today experience a full day tour visiting some of the highlights of the Canadian Rockies. Stop by picturesque Moraine Lake and enjoy a picnic lunch at beautiful Lake Louise before returning to Banff.
Day 12 Banff
Enjoy your final full day in Banff. Perhaps take a scenic helicopter flight for spectacular views of the Three Sisters mountain peaks.
Day 13 Banff to Calgary
Drive to the city of Calgary.
Days 14-15 Calgary
Standing between rolling prairies and snowcapped mountains, Calgary is famous for its annual ’Stampede’ rodeo held every July and blends cowboy heritage with modern city life. Enjoy the morning in the city before heading to the airport for your flight home.
Additional Options: Looking for a magical winter wonderland version of this holiday? During the snowy months of late Nov - late Apr, winter festivals, sleigh rides, and skiing in Banff National Park are amongst the activities to enjoy in the spectacular Canadian Rockies.
