Itinerary
Day 1 Anchorage
On arrival transfer
to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 2 Anchorage
to Seward
After the welcome
meeting, head south along the coastline through the Kenai Mountains. This
stunning scenery provides the opportunity for a hike, before continuing
on to the town of Seward.
Day 3 Kenai
Fjords National Park
This morning drive
to Kenai Fjords National Park. The fjords were created by the retreat of
many glaciers leaving behind a vista of dramatic cliffs, covered in nesting

old mountain tunnel to Whittier. Board the ferry to Valdez, the northernmost
ice free port in the western hemisphere.
Day 6 Valdez
to McCarthy
Today, witness
some of the most spectacular scenery in Alaska, forested hills and wild
rivers all becoming more dramatic as you reach Keystone canyon. Sheer cliff
walls play host to cascades of crystal waters tumbling over the edge in
to the river below as you reach the town of McCarthy.
Day 7 McCarthy
Wrangell St Elias
National Park is home to the largest concentration of glaciers on the continent.
The aim is to walk the Bonanza Mine trail, a 16km straightforward, but
fairly strenuous walk that follows the ridges and tram lines to an old
mine. A more sedate walking option is available.
Day 8 McCarthy
Today is at leisure.
You may opt for some of the other walks through the park, alternatively
try some of the rafting opportunities available.
Day 9 McCarthy
to Tangle Lakes
Head north along
the Denali Highway towards Glenallen, the gateway in to the beautiful setting
of Tangle Lakes, one of Alaska’s most accessible wilderness areas. On
arrival, enjoy a short walk in search of wolves, bears and reindeer.

Lakes to Denali National Park
Breath taking
views await as you continue northwest towards Denali, the highest mountain
in North America. Denali National Park is a haven for wildlife and is one
of the highlights of this trip.
