Itinerary
Days 1-2 Whitehorse, Canada
Welcome to Whitehorse. Spend your first full day exploring Main Street, before a stroll along the banks of the Yukon River. This afternoon, hop on board a canoe as you journey downriver taking in the rich landscapes and local wildlife with a friendly guide.
Day 3 Whitehorse to Haines Junction
Collect your motorhome and hit the open road as you head to the small town of Haines Junction, gateway to spectacular Kluane National Park and Reserve.
Day 4 Kluane NP
Spend the day exploring a myriad of walking trails, spotting local wildlife and superb mountain views.
Day 5 Haines Junction to Beaver Creek
Travel north along the Alaska Highway, enjoying beautiful scenery before arriving in the tiny community of Beaver Creek.
Days 6-8 Beaver Creek to Copper Center, USA
Cross the border into Alaska, USA and travel to Copper Center, gateway to America’s largest national park and home to the Ahtna Alaska natives who have resided here for over 5,000 years.
Day 9 Copper Center to Tok
Hit the open road once again as you head to the historic town of Gakona. Continue along the Tok Cut-Off Highway to reach the small town of Tok, famed for being the ‘Dog Sled Capital of Alaska’.
Day 10 Tok to Dawson City, Canada
Today will be a memorable experience as you wind your way along the dramatic Top of the World Highway. Stop en route in Chicken to visit historic gold rush dredges, before crossing back into Yukon, Canada.
Days 11-12 Dawson City
Get to know this intriguing town, learning of the gold rush era and its tumultuous history. Perhaps visit the former gold mine and pan for your own gold. Take advantage of the long summer days and drive the short distance to the Midnight Dome, an incredible vantage point boasting expansive panoramas of the Yukon River and Klondike Valley.
Days 13-15 Dawson City to Carmacks
Wake early this morning for the scenic drive south along the Klondike Highway to Carmacks, the First Nations original trading post. Spend the next days exploring all that Carmacks and the surrounding area has to offer, from the quaint township of Mayo to The Five Finger Rapids.
Day 16 Carmacks to Whitehorse
After a night’s rest, continue south back to Whitehorse where your adventure comes to an end as you drop off your motorhome in time for your onward flight.
