Itinerary
Day 1 Anchorage
Your adventure begins on arrival into Anchorage, Alaska’s largest city and a centre for culture and history.
Day 2 Anchorage to Denali NP
Early this morning, board the Denali Star train heading north to the scenic splendour of Denali National Park.
Days 3-4 Denali NP
Enjoy a fascinating wilderness tour and learn about Denali’s flora while looking out for some of the park’s wild inhabitants including grizzly bears and caribou. Admire the incredible scenery before visiting Murie Cabin, the base for Adolph Murie, one of the most prominent researchers in the park’s history. An extra day is recommended to enjoy the various activities available from your hotel.
Day 5 Denali NP to Fairbanks
Hop on board the Denali Star and continue your journey to Fairbanks.
Day 6 Fairbanks
Spend the day exploring the many unique museums on offer, including the Aurora Ice Museum at Chena Hot Springs. If you’re here after late August, be sure to stay up to try and catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights!
Day 7 Fairbanks to Anchorage
Today head to the airport to catch the short flight back to Anchorage.
Day 8 Anchorage to Seward
Ride the Alaska Railroad Coastal Classic train south to Seward and spend the day in this historical port town, exploring the many art galleries and boutique shops.
Day 9 Seward to Kenai Fjords NP
Begin today with a fantastic wildlife and glacier cruise to the charming 3★+ Kenai Fjords Wilderness Lodge. As you navigate through this dramatic region, look out for eagles, puffins, sea lions and more. On arrival at the lodge, marvel at its idyllic setting on Fox Island peninsula. This afternoon, explore the pebble beach or head out on a hike keeping your eyes peeled for resident wildlife along the way.
Days 10-11 Kenai Fjords NP
Two full days at the lodge provide plenty of opportunities to enjoy an included kayak tour with your knowledgeable guide, and time to relax at leisure. A wide variety of wildlife call Kenai Fjords National Park home so be on the lookout for black bears on land, bald eagles in the air or seals and whales in the ocean.
Day 12 Kenai Fjords NP to Seward
A final short morning activity is possible before returning to Seward.
Day 13 Seward to Anchorage
A free day for any last-minute sightseeing before boarding the train back to Anchorage.
Day 14 Anchorage
Head to the airport for your onward flight.
