Itinerary
Days 1-3 Melbourne
Spend your time wandering through the city’s hidden lanes and admire the eclectic mix of architecture from historic arcades to contemporary buildings. One day, head out for a guided tour of the city before taking to the water on a scenic cruise of the Yarra River.
Days 4-5 Melbourne to Mornington Peninsula
Pick up your car and drive to the beautiful Mornington Peninsula to enjoy outstanding wineries, gorgeous beaches and bubbling natural hot springs, perfect for a relaxing dip after a busy day wine tasting.
Day 6 Mornington Peninsula to Phillip Island
Home to the world’s smallest penguins, the best time to see these wonderful creatures is after the sun sets. Join a small group tour to a secluded stretch of beach and watch as the little penguins perform their nightly ritual, waddling past to their nests. A truly magical experience! Day 7 Phillip Island Head to Australia’s largest colony of fur seals at Seal Rock and stop by the Koala Conservation Centre to see these lovable animals in their natural habitat.
Day 8 Phillip Island to Foster
Drive east through pretty countryside to Foster, a historic town 30 minutes drive from Wilsons Promontory National Park.
Day 9 Wilsons Promontory NP
Located on the southernmost tip of mainland Australia, this national park boasts incredible scenery and some of the country’s best walking tracks. Look out for wombats, kangaroos and emus! Day 10 Foster to Walhalla Travel to the sleepy mountain village of Walhalla. With a population barely hitting double figures, this historic region has a rich gold mining history.
Day 11 Walhalla to Yarra Valley
Head to the Yarra Valley, a gastronomic hotspot with some of Australia’s best wineries, restaurants, cellar doors and vineyards on your doorstep.
Day 12 Yarra Valley
Enjoy fabulous tasting tours and local gourmet produce, including artisanal cheeses, fresh fruit and decadent ice creams.
Day 13 Yarra Valley to Melbourne
Before driving back to Melbourne visit the Dandenong Ranges National Park. Home to spectacular mountain ash trees and lush fern gullies, the mountain elevation provides breathtaking panoramic views of the region.
