Itinerary

Day 1  Hobart  
Welcome to Tasmania. Explore Hobart taking in Salamanca Place, Constitution Dock and Mount Nelson for amazing views overlooking the city. Tonight, join your tour director and fellow travellers for a welcome dinner.  

Day 2  Hobart to Strahan  
Head west today to Tasmania’s oldest national park, the magnificent Mount Field National Park. Visit the spectacular three-tiered Russell Falls before taking the winding journey to Lake St. Clair. Continue through Queenstown alongside the UNESCO World Heritage protected Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park to the coastal town of Strahan.  

Day 3  Strahan to Cradle Mountain  
Cruise the spectacular Gordon River and admire the beauty of the dark waters in this untouched wilderness. Visit Sarah Island for an insight into Tasmania’s convict history, then head north to Cradle Mountain.  

Day 4  Cradle Mountain to Burnie  
Trek around the mighty Cradle Mountain as you admire the breathtaking views from Dove Lake. The wild alpine moorlands are home to the elusive Tasmanian devil, visit Devils@Cradle Sanctuary for insight into how they are supporting this threatened species. After an uplifting day journey along the scenic north west coast.  

Day 5  Burnie to Launceston  
Travel along the picturesque north west coastline, passing through Ulverstone and Sheffield. Continue to Launceston, visiting an Ashgrove Tasmanian Farm en route and perhaps taste some of the farm’s awardwinning cheeses.  

Day 6  Launceston  
Visit spectacular Cataract Gorge, for a scenic journey by chairlift. As you soar over the water look out and scope the alluring scenery from above. Enjoy some free time to explore further at leisure this afternoon.    

Day 7  Launceston to Bicheno    
The fragrances from Bridestowe Lavender Farm are truly a sensory wonder when travelling through the Tasmanian countryside. Treat yourself to a lavender infused ice cream before visiting Legerwood Carved Memorial Trees, planted in honour of fallen World War I soldiers. Finishing the day in Bicheno, you can choose to watch the little penguins waddle to shore.  

Day 8  Bicheno to Hobart  
Admire the intense contrasting colours of Freycinet National Park, from the aqua blues of Coles Bay to the dramatic pink granite cliffs. Explore the coastline today, then continue on to Hobart.

Day 9  Port Arthur  
Cross Eaglehawk Neck Peninsula and cruise around the Isle of the Dead to embark on a guided tour of Port Arthur, Tasmania’s most notorious convict prison. Enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow travellers this evening.  

Day 10  Hobart  
Your tour comes to an end after breakfast this morning, depart for your onward travels.
