Itinerary
Day 1 Adelaide
Begin your journey in the vibrant city of Adelaide, home to fantastic restaurants, renowned wine and contemporary architecture.
Days 2-3 Adelaide to Alice Springs
Board The Ghan for the start of an unforgettable journey and head for the Flinders Ranges and onward to Alice Springs. On day 3, your 7 night small group 4WD adventure into the stunning and diverse Red Centre begins.
Day 4 Alice Springs
Head out to Simpsons Gap, the imposing Standley Chasm, and the West MacDonnell Ranges before an outdoor barbecue under the stars in the evening.
Day 5 Alice Springs to Kings Canyon
Depart Alice Springs and travel the Mereenie Loop through the scenic Western Mac Donnell Ranges. Visit Standley Chasm and Ormiston Gorge before arriving at Kings Canyon.
Day 6 Watarrka NP
Experience the wonders of majestic Kings Canyon with your choice of a breathtaking rim walk or a more relaxed option along the canyon floor. In the afternoon, there is the option to take an unmissable helicopter flight over the Watarrka National Park, before sunset drinks and canapes at Light-Towers.
Day 7 Kings Canyon to Uluru
Pass through Kings Creek Station before arriving at Uluru. This evening’s unique Wintjiri Wiru Sunset Dinner tells the Mala story through immersive drones and lasers against the night sky.
Days 8-9 Uluru
Over the next two days, experience all Uluru has to offer with guided walks, cultural talks, a dining experience at the Field of Light and a Sounds of Silence dinner under the stars.
Day 10 Uluru to Alice Springs
Transfer back to Alice Springs and rejoin the Ghan for your final night on board.
Day 11 Alice Springs to Darwin
As the train travels north, take in the beautiful scenery as you head towards Katherine, where you’ll embark on an Off-Train Experience of your choosing, exploring natural wonders you’ll never forget. Stay in Darwin for the night.
Day 12 Darwin to Kakadu NP
Depart Darwin and head for the Mary River region. Take to the water on a cruise, keeping watch for saltwater crocodiles and an abundance of birdlife. Continue on to Kakadu National Park.
Day 13 Kakadu NP
Take to the skies for an early morning 60 minute scenic flight over ancient escaprments. Afterwards, cruise down the East Alligator River looking out for the abundant wildlife.
Day 14 Kakadu NP to Darwin
Today you’ll continue north to Darwin, firstly heading to Litchfield National Park, home to several types of typical Top End habitat. Look out for lush monsoon forests, termite mounds and unusual rock formations. Visit Florence Falls and Wangi Falls where you can take a dip in the water.
Days 15-16 Darwin
Explore Darwin at your leisure and on your final evening enjoy a delicious Territory-style dinner on board a relaxing cruise on Darwin Harbour with views of the spectacular sunset.
