Itinerary
Days 1-2 Adelaide
Bordered by some of the country’s most renowned wine regions, Adelaide is overflowing with culture, entertainment, fabulous restaurants and outdoor bars. To really get a taste of South Australia’s exquisite local produce, take yourself to the famed Central Markets where you’ll find everything from artisan cheeses and virgin olive oils to freshly baked organic breads.
Days 3-5 Adelaide to Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park
This morning, pick up your car and travel north where your Australian outback adventure starts! As you travel through small towns, the unique beauty of Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park landscape comes into sight. Enjoy the next couple of days at leisure, why not opt-in for an optional day tour with local guide and learn about the region geology or perhaps, climb aboard a scenic flight over Wilpena Pound.
Days 6-7 Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park to Paringa, Murray River
As you leave the Australian Outback behind, you will reach your luxury villa perched on the peaceful banks of the Murray River. After a morning at leisure, your local guide will take you on a private cruise through the wetlands where you will encounter the abundant wildlife of the Riverland region.
Days 8-9 Paringa, Murray River to Barossa Valley
Enjoy the easy drive west passing through quaint villages en route to the world renowned Barossa Valley wine region. Spend the afternoon soaking up the atmosphere of this enchanting region, a foodie’s delight. Visit the historic wineries, wander through beautiful countryside villages and indulge in some of the best drinking and dining experiences or relax in style in the gorgeous surroundings of your cottage accommodation.
Days 10-11 Barossa Valley to Victor Harbor
Head south to Victor Harbor on the Fleurieu Peninsula, a local’s getaway, known for its wineries but also boasts white sand beaches and pretty bays, peppered with beachfront restaurants overlooking the ocean. Split your time between exploring the coast and discovering the vineyards of McLaren Vale. Enjoy tastings at traditional family-run cellar doors, or visiting the contemporary vineyards of Mitolo and the d’Arenberg Cube – a five storey Rubik’s Cube-inspired structure perched amongst the rolling green vines.
Days 12-14 Victor Harbor to Kangaroo Island
Today travel south to Cape Jervis to board the ferry to remarkable Kangaroo Island, nicknamed ’Australia’s natural zoo’! Kangaroo Island is a place of pristine beauty with rugged coastlines and an amazing array of wildlife. Get up close to sea lions and fur seals, discover koalas snoozing in the gum trees above and spot kangaroos and wallabies at every turn. Experience extraordinary local produce and warm Aussie hospitality across the island.
Days 15-16 Kangaroo Island to Adelaide Hills
Catch the ferry back to the mainland and head north to picturesque Adelaide Hills where you will spend the night. After breakfast, head back to the airport for your onward journey.
