Itinerary
Days 1-2 Darwin
Arrive in Darwin and transfer to your hotel before heading out on to Darwin harbour for a stunning dinner cruise. The next day transfer to the train station to board The Ghan Expedition and depart for Katherine, home to beautiful natural scenery including the incredible Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge.
Days 3-4 Alice Springs
Your 7-night small group adventure into the stunning and diverse Red Centre begins here in Alice Springs. You will meet your expert guides and learn what makes this unique outback outpost tick.
Day 5 Alice Springs to Kings Canyon
Depart Alice Springs and travel the Mereenie Loop through the Western MacDonnell Ranges. Visit Ormiston Gorge before arriving at Kings Canyon.
Day 6 Watarrka NP
Experience the wonders of Kings Canyon with your choice of a rim walk or a less strenuous option along the canyon floor. In the afternoon, there is an opportunity to take a helicopter flight over Kings Canyon and Watarrka National Park.
Day 7 Kings Canyon to Uluru
Travel to the iconic Uluru. In the evening, attend the Wintjiri Wiru Sunset Dinner, a cultural storytelling experience, told through choreographed drones, lasers and projections illuminating the night sky.
Days 8-9 Uluru
Over the next two days, experience all Uluru has to offer with guided walks, cultural talks, at the Field of Light and a Sounds of Silence dinner under the stars.
Day 10 Uluru to Alice Springs
Head back to Alice Springs and re-join The Ghan Expedition. This evening, enjoy a unique dining experience under a chandelier of stars at the Alice Springs Telegraph Station.
Day 11 Coober Pedy
In the morning, stop at Manguri before continuing into the opal mining township of Coober Pedy, where more than half of the residents live below ground. Here, you’ll enjoy lunch in the most unique of locations: underground.
Day 12 Adelaide
This morning, you’ll see a dramatic change in landscape. Leave behind the rich ochre tones of the outback, journeying through the majestic Flinders Ranges and make way for the green fields of South Australia.
