Itinerary
Day 1 Sydney to Canberra
Depart Sydney early and head south to charming Canberra. Stop at historic Gold Creek Station en route and enjoy a guided tour of Parliament House upon arrival in Australia’s capital.
Day 2 Canberra to Wangaratta
Admire panoramic views from the summit of Mount Ainslie before crossing the Murray River into Victoria to historic Beechworth, a gold rush town en route to Wangaratta.
Day 3 Wangaratta to Melbourne
Travel through Ned Kelly country to cosmopolitan Melbourne and perhaps discover underground jazz lounges or rooftops to watch the sun set.
Day 4 Melbourne
Spend the day at leisure, this thrilling city has plenty to do and see. From venturing to Phillip Island for a penguin parade to viewing the city from a bird’s eye perspective at Melbourne Skydeck, or simply strolling the atmospheric laneways and enjoy a strong coffee.
Day 5 Melbourne to Warrnambool
Marvel at the spectacular scenery along the Great Ocean Road and enjoy plentiful photo opportunities on the journey, including the iconic Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge.
Day 6 Warrnambool to Naracoorte
Keep an eye out for Emus and Koalas as you drive through Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve, located in a dormant volcanic crater. Later, cross into South Australia to see Mount Gambier’s mysterious Blue Lake. Join a local expert for a tour of Alexandra Cave at Naracoorte this evening.
Day 7 Naracoorte to Kangaroo Island
Today, hop on board a ferry to Kangaroo Island. Be greeted on arrival by the native wildlife like sea lions and unique bird species.
Day 8 Kangaroo Island
See the Remarkable Rocks and Admiral’s Arch, local habitat for an immense colony of husky fur seals. Visit Seal Bay Conservation Park and watch as the enormous sea lions barrel down the sand to the water. Then tour the eucalyptus distillery and enjoy a craft beer tasting at a boutique brewery.
Day 9 Kangaroo Island to Adelaide
Take the ferry back to Adelaide and get to know the city on an orientation tour, the rest of the afternoon is at leisure.
Days 10-11 Adelaide
Head to the rolling hills of the Barossa Valley on day 10 and sample exquisite wines throughout the day. Your tour comes to an end after breakfast on day 11.
