Itinerary
Days 1-2 Victoria
Falls, Zimbabwe to Chobe NP, Botswana
Your adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6pm. You can arrive at
any time as there are no activities planned today. On day 2 visit the Victoria
Falls Wildlife Trust, one of The Intrepid Foundation projects to learn
about the rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife, human-wildlife conflict
and their role in anti-poaching. There may also be a chance to meet the
rescued wildlife currently in their care. Continue to Chobe National Park
and embark on a scenic sunset cruise.
Day 3 Chobe NP to Maun
There’s time for an optional game drive for those who would like to further
explore this beautiful park. As well as elephants, you might see some of
Chobe’s other noble creatures – from giraffe and zebra to impala and
antelope. Afterwards travel to Maun, the gateway to one of the world’s
most complex eco-systems, the Okavango Delta.
Days 4-5 Okavango Delta
Travel into the unspoiled wilderness for an adventurous camping experience.
The Okavango Delta is a 10,000sq miles maze of wetlands filled with a diversity
of flora and fauna that includes hippos, crocodiles, elephants and big
cats. Explore the waterways by dugout canoe and camp for 2 nights on a
remote island. On day 5 venture out for a sunrise walk before breakfast
then enjoy the rest of the day to relax.
Days 6-7 Maun to Khama Rhino Sanctuary
Travel back to Maun. Perhaps check out the Nhabe Museum if you feel curious.
On day 7 travel to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary on the edge of the Kalahari
Desert. Built to protect Botswana’s only remaining populations of both
black and white rhinos, the sanctuary is also home to other wildlife including
zebras, giraffes, leopards, ostriches and wildebeest, all of which can
be seen around the many natural waterholes on an evening game drive.
Days 8-9 Khama Rhino Sanctuary to Johannesburg, South Africa
Cross the border into South Africa en route to Soweto in Johannesburg.
Enjoy a relaxing evening upon arrival. On day 9 take to the streets on
a bicycle and learn about the Soweto uprising and the resistance against
apartheid before your tour ends in the afternoon.
