Itinerary

Weeks 1-2 Zanzibar – Marine Volunteer Project
Touch down in the paradise island of Zanzibar, meet your friendly African Impact leader and head for the rustic beach house, home for the next 2 weeks. Once you’ve settled in and got to know your volunteer family, contribute to conservation efforts by recording dolphin behaviour which helps regulate dolphin tourism, and snorkel over Zanzibar’s reefs, looking out for signs of coral bleaching. On land, join the team in the local village of Jambiani, promoting ethical dolphin tours with local boat drivers and encouraging children to care for their environment. At weekends, relax in the warm sun and explore your tranquil island surroundings.

Week 3 Mount Kilimanjaro – Group Adventure Tour
Swap your flip flops for hiking boots and jump on a flight to Kilimanjaro. Led by a local guide and in the company of a group of like-minded travellers, take on the challenging trek to the mountain’s summit. Take in stunning views as you traverse forests, ice fields and high-alpine deserts. Celebrate another bucket list tick as you watch the sunrise from Uhuru Peak, then descend to the town of Moshi for a well-earned rest.

Weeks 4-5 Zanzibar – Teaching Volunteer Project
Return to Zanzibar and settle back into beach life at African Impact’s volunteer house, this time getting involved with teaching in the local community. Assist a busy teacher at a nursery school, get creative at an after school club, engaging children with fun and educational activities, and help adult students hone their English skills, improving their chances of finding a job.
