Ultimate Tented Kruger Experience

Day 1 Johannesburg to Badplaas          
Pick up your car and travel east towards the open plains of Mpumalanga. Badplaas is located in a lowveld area, where streams lazily flow into trout dams and majestic mountains shadow the open grasslands below. This is big sky country.          

Day 2 Badplaas      
Try your hand at archery, while away the hours fishing or join a bush drive to spot resident antelope, zebras and wildebeest. The scenery here is wonderful and there are a selection of easy walking and mountain bike trails to suit all abilities.          

Day 3 Badplaas to Simbavati Hilltop Lodge    
Rise early for the journey towards the beautiful Simbavati Hilltop Lodge, part of Timbavati Game Reserve which shares an unfenced border with Kruger National Park. This intimate camp boasts spacious luxury tents complete with a daybed offering stunning views over the Nhlaralumi River and distant foothills of the Drakensberg beyond.          

Day 4 Simbavati Hilltop Lodge    
Enjoy two daily game drives with your expert guide and tracker. Kruger is a world-class national park with a huge diversity of wildlife and your ranger will help you understand even the smallest intricacies of the bush. Back at camp, enjoy a dip in the welcoming pool, watch for roaming antelope and as dusk draws in, marvel at the stars and listen to the call of the wild as you retreat to the comfort of your luxury tent.          

Day 5 Simbavati Hilltop Lodge    
After your dawn drive, enjoy a hearty breakfast, soaking up the sights and sounds of the bush around you. In the afternoon, relax with a drink in the atmospheric 360° open-air lounge or indulge in a sumptuous spa treatment. Dinner is served either on the deck or round the boma for an authentic safari experience.      

Day 6 Simbavati Hilltop Lodge to Dullstroom    
Rise early one last time for your final game drive. After breakfast, continue your journey back towards the scenic mountain village of Dullstroom. En route, take a small detour via God’s Window, a magnificent lookout point within Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, forming part of the scenic Panorama Route.      

Day 7 Dullstroom          
It’s time to relax on your final day in this stunning, tranquil corner of Mpumalanga. Stretch your legs and admire the views with a gentle walk and picnic, indulge in a spa treatment or if you are still feeling adventurous, horse riding and fishing are available nearby.

Day 8 Dullstroom to Johannesburg          
After a leisurely breakfast and well deserved lie in, it’s time to head back to Johannesburg for your onward arrangements.
