Itinerary
Day 1 Cape Town
From sandy coastal bays and vibrant gardens to fabulous restaurants, shops and bars, this buzzing city has it all. Don’t miss the lively V&A waterfront and trendy Camps Bay.
Days 2-3 Cape Town
Enjoy a full day Cape Point & Peninsular Tour and visit the region’s most popular resident on the penguin patrolled beaches. Continue on a scenic drive around Chapman’s Peak coastal road and onto the pretty Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (payable locally).
Days 4-5 Cape Town to Franschhoek
This morning transfer to the heart of the wine country and spend the afternoon exploring the boutique shops and cafés. The next day leisurely hop between beautiful wine estates sampling fine wines paired with breathtaking scenery on the Franschhoek Wine Tram experience.
Days 6-7 Franschhoek to Johannesburg
Transfer back to Cape Town for your flight to Johannesburg. Spend two days in ‘The City of Gold’ and learn about South Africa’s most famed township on the Soweto Township Tour, which includes a visit to the Nelson Mandela House Museum.
Days 8-11 Rovos Rail
An unforgettable few days lie ahead, as you board Rovos Rail in Pretoria this morning. Sit back, relax and enjoy lunch as you leave the city behind and travel north through Warmbaths, crossing the Tropic of Capricorn. On day 10 you will continue through the wilds of Zimbabwe. On day 11 the train journeys along one of Africa’s longest stretches of straight line before arriving at Hwange National Park where you’ll depart the train for a thrilling game drive.
Days 12-15 Victoria Falls to Chobe National Park
After a final night on board, enjoy breakfast before the journey comes to an end at stunning Victoria Falls. Combine spectacular Victoria Falls with game viewing in Chobe National Park. Enjoy a guided tour to see ‘the smoke that thunders’ up close before heading to Chobe NP in Botwana to enjoy both land and water based game drives and a Zambezi River Sunset Cruise.
Day 16 Chobe National Park
If time permits enjoy one last morning game drive before taking a transfer to Kasane airport for your onward flight.
