Itinerary
Day 1 Cape Town
Arrive in Cape Town at any time and start exploring this marvellous city at your leisure.
Day 2 Cape Town to Stellenbosch
Begin your adventure by cycling to Bloubergstrand for an iconic view of Table Mountain. Afterwards, transfer to the Cape Winelands and cycle over Hellshoogte before visiting the Boschendal vineyards.
Day 3 Stellenbosch to Montagu
Take a short transfer, then cycle through Franschhoek and up the Franschhoek Pass for some of the most breathtaking views of this region. Continue riding to Villiersdorp and the Nuy Valley before a short transfer to Montagu.
Day 4 Montagu to Barrydale
Cycle the scenic backroads of the Great & Little Karoo deserts before reaching Barrydale. This quiet old Dutch village is in a fertile valley surrounded by a colourful mix of vines, fruits and seasonal wildflowers.
Day 5 Barrydale to Swellendam
After breakfast, a climb over the Tradouws Pass offers spectacular views and you are rewarded with a downhill route through the Langeberge Mountains to Suurbrak. Later, enjoy a drive to Bontebok National Park for wildlife spotting including mountain zebra and rare species of antelope.
Day 6 Swellendam to Cape Agulhas
Travel through the cultivated farmlands and remote fishing villages of the Western Cape this morning before arriving at the southernmost point of Africa, Cape Agulhas.
Day 7 Cape Agulhas to Hermanus
Cycle through undulating farmlands to Kleinbaai, then take a short transfer to Stanford and visit the Birkenhead Brewery for a tasting. Continue to Hermanus where you have the chance to spot whales from the shore (Jul - Nov).
Day 8 Hermanus
Enjoy a free day to rest your legs and explore this pretty town, perhaps take a whale watching tour or go shark cage diving!
Day 9 Hermanus to Simon’s Town
Today, cycle the Whale Coast to Gordon’s Bay. Follow the rugged coastline and gaze in awe at the dramatic views en route to Simon’s Town.
Day 10 Simon’s Town
Explore Cape Point Nature Reserve, starting with a walk from the Cape of Good Hope to the old lighthouse at Cape Point. Cycle through the nature reserve and along the beautiful coastal road back to town and visit the local penguin colony at Boulders Beach.
Day 11 Simon’s Town to Cape Town
Today’s ride is arguably the most scenic as you complete the Cape Argus route to Cape Town. Cycling the Chapmans Peak Drive is a fitting end to a wonderful holiday, before passing the remarkable Twelve Apostles en route back to the city.
Day 12 Cape Town
Your tour comes to an end after breakfast this morning.
