Gorillas Through The Mist

Day 1 Kigali to Volcanoes NP  
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel near Volcanoes National Park. This tour includes a stay at 3★ Mountain Gorilla View Lodge but see below for upgraded options. If time permits, stop en route at the town of Musanze to take a wander around the central market. Alternatively, if you arrive early we can arrange a fascinating tour of Kigali and its sombre but worthwhile Genocide Memorial, which honours the memory of more than one million Rwandans who were killed in the 1994 genocide.

Day 2 Volcanoes NP to Kigali  
Join your group for a briefing on gorilla trekking etiquette before entering Volcanoes National Park. This beautiful park was the base for the ground-breaking work of Dian Fossey in the 1960s and today has around 10 habituated gorilla groups of up to 33 members. The trek can be tiring and may take up to six hours depending on where the gorillas are located, but the sight of these amazing primates in their natural habitat makes it all worthwhile. Once they have been spotted, you will spend a memorable hour in their company before trekking back. After lunch drive back to Kigali for your final night in Rwanda. If you can, why not add an extra day to this tour and experience the magic of a second gorilla trek?

Transfer to the airport.
