Itinerary
Days 1-2 Windhoek to Sesriem
Settle into your accommodation after an arrival transfer. On day 2 travel to Sesriem for a feature stay at a desert lodge. Enjoy lunch before a guided nature drive to discover the unique flora and fauna of the desert. Stop for a drink to take it all in as the sun sets then return to the lodge for dinner.
Day 3 Sesriem
Rise early to visit Sossusvlei to take advantage of unsurpassed views of the incredible rolling dunes. Climbing to the top of Dune 45 will reward you with a spectacular perspective of the surreal desert landscape. After breakfast, travel to Deadvlei, a clay pan complete with skeleton trees and vibrant orange dunes.
Days 4-5 Sesriem to Swakopmund
Continue your journey to Swakopmund on the Skeleton Coast via Moon Valley, named for its eerie lunar-like appearance. Upon arrival, join your tour leader on an orientation walk to get a feel for this interesting coastal town with a GermanNamibian atmosphere. Day 5 is yours to enjoy an optional activity perhaps take a trip north to Cape Cross, a breeding site for Cape fur seals.
Days 6-7 Swakopmund to Damaraland
Drive towards the Namib Desert, soaking up the beautiful, diverse and colourful landscapes that stream past along the way; mountains, sand dunes, ocean waves and shipwrecks. End the day with a walk to take in truly remarkable views of the surrounding Mopane woodland. On day 7 visit the Twyfelfontein Heritage Site and the Petrified Forest with expert local guides to provide insight on these wonders.
Day 8 Damaraland to Etosha NP
On arrival in Etosha National Park enjoy a free afternoon to relax at your lodge. Maybe cool off in the pool, read a book or enjoy a sundowner by the bar.
Days 9-10 Etosha NP to Windhoek
Rise early for a game drive, keeping a close eye on the landscape for rhinos, zebras, impalas and antelopes. The park is also home to some 340 bird species. Retire to a rest camp within the park for lunch, a swim and a welcome break from the midday sun, then set out again for an afternoon game drive in search of any wildlife you may have missed on the morning outing. After breakfast on day 10 make your way back to Windhoek where your adventure comes to an end on arrival.
