Itinerary
Day 1 Antananarivo
Arrive into the country’s capital at any time and explore at leisure.
Day 2 Antananarivo to Andasibe NP
Explore Antananarivo on a morning city tour before travelling through lush landscapes, passing rocky mountains and rural villages en route to Andasibe National Park. This evening, embark on a twilight walk looking for nocturnal species of lemur.
Day 3 Andasibe NP to Antananarivo
Enjoy a half day visit to Andasibe National Park where you may spot the teddy-bear like indri. In the afternoon, return to Antananarivo.
Day 4 Antananarivo to Kirindy Forest Reserve
Fly to Morondava and visit the famous Alley of Baobabs, one of the country’s most iconic sites.
Day 5 Kirindy Forest Reserve to Bekopaka
Enjoy a tour of the Kirindy Forest Reserve, home to the giant jumping rat, lemur and the endemic fossa. Continue through the desert landscape to Bekopaka.
Day 6 Bekopaka
Discover Grands Tsingy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famed for its pinnacles, the karst landscape is home to a wide variety of wildlife including 11 species of lemur.
Day 7 Bekopaka to Morondava
Pass by the Sakalava tribe tombs, known for their unusual paintings and carvings, en route to Morondava. Stop again at the Alley of Baobabs to watch the sunset.
Day 8 Morondava to Antsirabe
Travel through the fascinating scenery of Betsiriry Plateau on the journey to Antsirabe.
Day 9 Antsirabe to Ranomafana NP
Travel to Ranomafana National Park, home to beautiful landscapes and considered one of Madagascar’s highlights.
Day 10 Ranomafana NP
Explore Ranomafana National Park with its forested hills and abundant wildlife. This afternoon, visit Ranomafana Village to see the typical Tanala tribal houses.
Day 11 Ranomafana NP to Ranohira
Sit back and admire the dramatic change in scenery on this long driving day to Ranohira. En route, stop at Anja Reserve to try to spot wild ring-tailed lemurs in this small reserve.
Day 12 Ranohira
Spend today exploring Isalo National Park, a vast region of wind-polished and waterscoured rock towers, deep canyons and gorges. The combination of coloured rock formations, unique plants and enveloping silence make this one of the most captivating places in Madagascar.
Day 13 Ranohira to Ifaty
Continue your journey today past the Mahafaly tombs with their ornate decorations and sculptures, to the coastal town of Ifaty.
Day 14 Ifaty
A day at leisure in the beautiful beachside town of Ifaty. The surrounding offshore islets are a terrific place for snorkelling around protected coral reefs.
Days 15-16 Ifaty to Antananarivo
Leave the beauty of Ifaty behind you and continue to the airport for a flight back to Antananarivo where you'll have some free time to explore the city. After breakfast on day 16 your tour comes to an end.
