Itinerary
Day 1 Nairobi, Kenya
Your Africa adventure begins as the plane touches down in red-earthed Nairobi. You'll be greeted by a transfer rep at the airport and driven to your accommodation for the night.
Day 2 Nairobi to Masai Mara
Pass down and through the Great Rift Valley as you arrive at your classic African safari lodge, just in time for lunch in the famous Masai Mara. After lunch, you'll have time for a quick siesta or a dip in the pool. This afternoon will include your first game drive, seeing some of Africa's vast array of wildlife both big and small on the rolling hills of this magnificent nature reserve.
Day 3 Masai Mara
This morning you have the option for a once-in-a-lifetime hot air balloon experience, or join the early morning game drive - one of the best times to see the wild animals as they relax in the cooler climate before the midday heat. In the late morning head back to the lodge for some lunch and lounging around the pool, before departing on an evening game drive in search of Africa's elusive big cats.
Day 4 Masai Mara to Nairobi
Treat yourself to one last morning drive in the unforgettable Masai Mara before heading north. This afternoon head back to Nairobi stopping for a visit at the Mirror of Hope Foundation. Later, arrive at your hotel and relax at the pool, get a spa treatment or spot wildlife from the bar.
Day 5 Nairobi to Amboseli
Before we reach our next destination, the route today takes you back past Nairobi where you have the chance to get up close to some of Africa's biggest land mammals. This includes a visit to a breeding and rehabilitation centre for the endangered Rothschild giraffe, and a heartwarming trip to an elephant orphanage sanctuary, to see the amazing work being done rehabilitating baby elephants back into the wild. Have a picnic lunch, and the afternoon will take you to a lodge on the edge of the Amboseli National Park.
Day 6 Amboseli
Take a short safari walk to a Masai village, guided by Masaai warriors who will teach you about their culture and everyday lives co-existing with wild animals. After lunch, head out to Amboseli National Park, famous for its iconic shots of elephants and wildlife feeding in the foreground while the peak of Africa rises in the background: Mt Kilimanjaro.
Day 7 Amboseli to Tarangire, Tanzania
This morning have one final game drive in Amboseli before heading across to the Tanzanian border. Say goodbye to your Kenyan guides as you are welcomed by your Tanzanian guides, and drive to the town of Arusha. Here you will visit the Shanga community project, which gives work to the disabled people of the community. Later, head off to your first national park in Tanzania - Tarangire; home to two of Africa's giants: the elephant and baobab trees.
Day 8 Tarangire
An early start this morning will take you back into the Tarangire National Park for a full day, in the hopes of a glimpse of some of its elusive predators and changing landscapes. You'll either stay the whole day here with a packed lunch provided, or head back to the lodge to enjoy a hot lunch and a swim in the pool.
Day 9 Tarangire to Serengeti
Take in views of the Rift valley and the rim of Ngorogoro Crater as you make your way to the main gate of the Serengeti, stopping off to visit Mto Wa Mbu Village and a local market. Tonight’s accommodation will be a safari-style lodge in the middle of the Serengeti. Listen to the sounds of nocturnal animals waking up to forage or hunt, all while sitting under the bright canopy of stars in the African sky.
Day 10 Serengeti
Spend a full day seeking out the game of Africa's plains, with predators in hot pursuit of their prey. If you want to make today even more unforgettable, you can opt in for a once-in-a-lifetime Balloon safari.
Day 11 Serengeti to Ngorogoro Crater
Enjoy some breakfast before departing the Serengeti with a morning game drive on our way to your next destination. In the late morning reach the Ngorogoro Crater, an ancient volcano, boasting one of the highest densities of predators stalking the abundant wildlife enclosed inside the crater's centre. Stop here for a picnic lunch before ascending the plateau.
Day 12 Ngorogoro Crater to Arusha
It's your last chance to do some souvenir shopping this morning, before you enjoy a final spectacular view of the Great Rift Valley on your way back to Arusha.
