Itinerary
Day 1 Bangkok, Thailand
Arrive in Thailand and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.
Days 2-4 Bangkok to Chiang Mai
Why not take a longtail boat ride along Bangkok’s canals? On day 3 enjoy the view from Doi Suthep temple and explore independently on day 4 before boarding a sleeper train to Chiang Mai.
Day 5 Chiang Mai to Chiang Khong
Journey through rural countryside to the peaceful riverside town of Chiang Khong, sitting beside the Mekong.
Day 6 Chiang Khong to Pakbeng, Laos
Cross the border and enter Laos. Board a slow boat and gently meander down the Mekong River before a relaxing evening at a riverside guesthouse.
Days 7-9 Pakbeng to Luang Prabang
Re-board the boat and stop by at the Pak Ou Caves before arriving in Luang Prabang. Enjoy the quaint atmosphere and swim in the turquoise waters of Kuang Si Falls. On day 9 discover the Lao jungle’s mysterious beauty as you walk side by side with rescued elephants in their natural habitat.
Days 10-11 Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng
Continue to Vang Vieng, surrounded by stunning limestone karst scenery with fascinating caves to explore.
Day 12 Vang Vieng to Vientiane
Travel to Vientiane and explore this laidback city. Head to the riverbank for the beautiful Mekong sunset.
Day 13 Vientiane to Hanoi, Vietnam
Leave Laos behind and board a flight to Vietnam’s capital, Hanoi. Browse the Old Quarter for traditional artefacts and gastronomic delights.
Day 14 Hanoi to Halong Bay
Embark on an overnight Halong Bay cruise. Kick back and enjoy the dramatic scenery, take a dip in the balmy waters and sleep under a star-studded sky.
Days 15-17 Halong Bay to Hue
Enjoy more of the serene surroundings before boarding a sleeper train to Hue. Explore this enchanting city, including the ruins of the Imperial Citadel.
Days 18-19 Hue to Hoi An
Travel along the spectacular Hai Van Pass to Hoi An. Enjoy free time to explore the tailor shops and riverside restaurants.
Days 20-22 Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City
After a short flight, take to the vibrant streets of Ho Chi Minh City on a city tour and head out to the Mekong Delta for a fascinating day tour. Board a sampan and paddle through the delta’s mangrove tributaries.
Days 23-24 Ho Chi Minh City to Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Cambodia awaits as you cross the border and travel to Phnom Penh. Visit the infamous Killing Fields before arriving in the city.
Day 25 Phnom Penh to Battambang
Travel west to Battambang and en route, stop for a pottery village visit at Kampong Chhnang.
Days 26-28 Battambang to Siem Reap
Continue to Siem Reap, the perfect base from which to visit the temples of Angkor. Two full days of exploring will give you an insight into Cambodia’s long history.
Days 29-30 Siem Reap to Bangkok, Thailand
Skip back across the border into Thailand and enjoy a final evening in Bangkok. Your trip comes to an end on the morning of day 30.
