Itinerary
Day 1 Bomerano
Make your way to Bomerano, a small village set in the hills above the Amalfi Coast. Your base for the next seven nights is a family-run hotel set high above the seashore with a small swimming pool.
Day 2 Monte Tre Calli
Start today’s walk from the centre of Bomerano. Follow narrow paths and tracks and climb to the top of Monte Tre Calli to admire the gorgeous views of the jagged coastline and seemingly endless blue sea. The Agerola Plain stretches out before you and on a clear day you may be able to see the island of Capri, a magnet for the rich and famous for many years.
Day 3 Amalfi
Today, walk towards the beautiful town of Amalfi along a path that follows the shores of the Mediterranean, encountering some uphill sections and steps en route. On arrival at Amalfi, explore the town and enjoy a refreshing swim in the small bay or perhaps treat yourself to a well-earned gelato, before heading back to your hotel by road.
Day 4 Pompeii & Mount Vesuvius
Pompeii was a thriving ancient town before the catastrophic eruption of nearby Mount Vesuvius buried the city in ash nearly 2,000 years ago. Explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site this morning and imagine how life was during the Roman times. The well preserved remains include bathhouses and homes adorned with detailed frescoes. After lunch, travel by bus high up the slopes to see the volcanic crater and, depending on the weather, it may be possible to take a walk around the crater.
Day 5 Ravello
Today’s walk begins in Ravello where there’s time to visit the landscaped gardens of the Villa Cimbrone. The route is mostly downhill, eventually reaching the village of Pontone. Continue along shady paths and through fragrant lemon groves of the Valle delle Ferriere National Park en route to the town of Amalfi.
Day 6 Bomerano
Enjoy a free day to further explore the area at your own pace. You may choose to visit the ancient city of Herculaneum or take the ferry to beautiful Capri. Your tour leader will be able to help with arrangements, whatever you choose to do. Alternatively, you may simply relax by the pool.
Day 7 Walk of the Gods
Renowned as one of the finest day walks in the world, the Walk of the Gods is a wonderful finale. The route follows undulating hills and ensures sweeping coastal views, while the trail passes rustic shepherd huts and ancient stone houses carved into the limestone. The walk is likely to get the blood pumping before descending a long series of steps to Positano. Explore the pretty alleyways lined with wisteria or take a dip in the clear water. Afterwards, transfer back to your hotel and enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow travellers.
Day 8 Bomerano
Your tour ends after breakfast this morning.
