Itinerary
Days 1-2 Halifax
Enjoy the bustling waterfront city of Halifax and explore its vibrant harbour area.
Day 3 Halifax to Western Shore
Pick up your car to begin your coastal adventure, stopping en route at the famous lighthouse at Peggy’s Cove.
Day 4 Lunenburg
Follow the dramatic coastline south to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lunenburg, less than a 30 minute drive from your Western Shore base.
Day 5 Western Shore to Digby
Travel cross country through dense woodland to Digby.
Day 6 Digby
Drive to Brier Island to join an exciting tour in search of whales and other marine life. Explore the Bay of Fundy and its unique tidal environment where tides reach up to 16m difference.
Day 7 Digby to Charlottetown
Drive north and cross Confederation Bridge to picturesque and historic Charlottetown, the capital of Prince Edward Island.
Days 8-9 Charlottetown to York
Spend your days exploring the sandy beaches and scenic trails of Canada’s smallest province.
Day 10 York to Baddeck
From Wood Islands harbour, catch the ferry back to Nova Scotia and drive to the northern shores of vast Bras d’Or Lake.
Day 11 Baddeck to Ingonish
The winding highland and coastal drive of the Cabot Trail offers spectacular views and plenty of Celtic culture. The 4★ Keltic Lodge Resort & Spa is a perfect location from which to discover this beautiful region.
Day 12 Cape Breton Highlands NP
Explore stunning Cape Breton Highlands National Park ‐ have your camera at the ready to capture the magnificent scenery and maybe even a moose!
Day 13 Ingonish to Sydney
Head to the port of Sydney, perhaps exploring nearby Louisbourg and the reconstructed 18th Century fortress.
Day 14 Sydney to Dundee
Break the journey south for some time relaxing in this small lakeside resort.
Day 15 Dundee to Liscomb Mills
Cross the Canso Causeway back onto the mainland and enjoy a relaxing night on the shores of the Liscomb River.
Day 16 Liscomb Mills to Halifax
Drive along the rugged eastern shore back to Halifax.
