Itinerary
Days 1-2 Alice Springs
Welcome to the outback! After picking up your car, join an engrossing Alice Springs City Tour, the perfect start to your Red Centre adventure. Visit the famous Royal Flying Doctor Service, the School of the Air and ascend to the top of ANZAC Hill for panoramic city views. On your next day, rise early for an incredible hot air balloon ride with serene views of the MacDonnell Ranges, a stunning mountainous backdrop.
Day 3 Alice Springs to Kings Canyon
Witness the dramatic scenery of Australia’s desert country en route to magnificent Kings Canyon as you drive along the scenic and predominantly gravel Mereenie Loop, the ultimate outback driving experience. For those who prefer an easier tarred route, follow the Stuart Highway en route to Kings Canyon.
Day 4 Kings Canyon
One of the highlights of any Red Centre trip, spend today experiencing this natural wonder. Hike to the top on the Kings Canyon Rim Walk and be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views over the valley below, before heading down into the lush gorge of the canyon. In the evening, head to the Light Towers at Kings Canyon for an immersive audiovisual experience from the renowned artist Bruce Munro.
Day 5 Kings Canyon to Uluru
Today continue on to Uluru, the majestic icon and pulsing heart of Australia. After dropping off your SUV at Ayers Rockairport, pick up the courtesy shuttle to your hotel and spend the rest of the afternoon settling in. This evening, enjoy the Sounds of Silence Dinner experience, sampling traditional Aussie tucker and bubbles as the sun sets, bathing the rock in a mesmerising kaleidoscope of colours: a truly magical experience under the vast outback sky.
Day 6 Uluru
This morning, rise early for your Uluru Morning Guided Base Walk and watch the first rays of the sun reach the rock, before embarking on a fascinating walk around its circumference. Start at the sacred site of Kuniya Piti and pass the Mutitjulu Waterhole and Kantju Gorge, discovering the myths, legends and ancient history of this sacred site. In the evening, immerse yourself in a unique cultural experience at the Wintjiri Wiru Sunset Dinner.
Day 7 Uluru
Head west to join your Kata Tjuta Valley of the Winds tour. After another breathtaking sunrise over this spectacular geological formation in the company of an experienced guide, hike through stunning mountain scenery and explore Walpa Gorge, learning of the unusual rock formations and ancient Aboriginal rock art which has shaped the history of this region.
Day 8 Uluru
After one last glimpse of impressive Uluru, head back on a courtesy shuttle transfer to Ayers Rock airport where your adventure ends.
