Day 3 Auckland to Waitomo

Collect your motorhome and head south to Waitomo. Visit the magnificent Waitomo Glowworm caves in the afternoon for an incredible natural light show from these fascinating insects.

Days 4-5 Waitomo to Rotorua

Travel to the geothermal hotspot of Rotorua, home to bubbling geysers and volcanic mud pools, passing scenic vistas en route. Spend day 5 exploring this geothermal wonderland.

Day 6 Rotorua to Taupo

Take the short drive through rolling hills and pretty farmland to the lakeside town of Taupo.

Day 7 Taupo to Wellington

Continue through the heart of the North Island to Wellington, New Zealand’s capital. Take the Wellington Cable Car up the mountain for sweeping views or perhaps visit the beautiful Botanical Gardens.

Day 8 Wellington to Marlborough

Board the ferry to the South Island (not included) and drive to the spectacular world-renowned wine region of Marlborough. Spend the night at the beautiful Gibson Bridge Vineyard sampling the delicious local wine.

Day 9 Marlborough to Nelson

Drive west to Nelson near the spectacular Abel Tasman National Park.

Day 10 Abel Tasman NP

Visit the breathtakingly beautiful Abel Tasman National Park. Famed for golden beaches, beautiful coves and stunning coastal walks, this is Mother Nature at her best.

Day 11 Nelson to Punakaiki

The west coast is remote and wild, whilst the landscape is mesmerising. Set out early for the long but beautiful drive to Punakaiki to see the unique Pancake Rocks.

Day 12 Punakaiki to Fox Glacier

Head south to the small picturesque village of Fox Glacier. Visit Lake Matheson known for its mirror-like reflections.

Day 13 Fox & Franz Josef Glacier

Take to the air this morning by helicopter to see Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers. Be prepared for unforgettable views of these awe-inspiring glaciers.

Day 14 Fox Glacier to Queenstown

Drive through stunning Mount Aspiring National Park to lively Queenstown. Set between The Remarkables mountain range and sparkling Lake Wakatipu, the location is hard to beat.

Days 15-16 Queenstown

The options for exploration from Queenstown are almost endless. Perhaps enjoy a full day tour cruising the waters of Milford Sound, take a 4WD Lord of the Rings location tour or pan for gold in nearby Arrowtown.

Day 17 Queenstown to Oamaru

Depart Queenstown and head towards the east coast to Oamaru, known for being the home of the world’s smallest penguins.

Days 18-19 Oamaru to Christchurch

Travel to Christchurch to drop off your motorhome and spend your final night in a hotel.

Days 3-4 Auckland to Rotorua

Pick up your car and head to the geothermal wonderland of Rotorua, home to steaming hot springs, bubbling mud pools and tremendous geysers.

Days 5-6 Rotorua to Turangi

Head south to Turangi, your base to explore volcanic landscape of Tongariro National Park, where you will experience one of New Zealand’s greatest day hikes – the spectacular Tongariro Alpine Crossing.

Days 7-8 Turangi to Wellington

Pass through pretty countryside before arriving in New Zealand’s capital and cultural heart.

Days 9-10 Wellington to Blenheim

Journey by ferry across the Cook Strait to the winery town of Blenheim. The next day enjoy an amazing tour cruising through the Marlborough Sounds and tasting delicious Sauvignon Blanc.

Days 11-12 Blenheim to Kaikoura

Follow the coast to the picture-perfect seaside town of Kaikoura, famed for its abundant marine life. Join a whale watching cruise to see these magnificent animals in the wild.

Day 13 Kaikoura to Christchurch

Continue to Christchurch and drop off your car before taking a stroll along the banks of the Avon River and perhaps visiting Hagley Park’s botanical gardens.

Day 14 Christchurch to Franz Josef

Rise early to board the TranzAlpine train to Greymouth. This iconic journey is one of the most picturesque rail routes in the world, crossing dramatic gorges and passing remarkable mountain scenery via Arthur’s Pass.

Day 15 Franz Josef

This picturesque village is surrounded by rainforest and sits close to the base of the stunning Franz Josef glacier. For an experience like no other, opt to take to the skies by helicopter and experience an exhilarating hike across the ice.

Day 16 Franz Josef to Wanaka

One of the most breathtaking drives on your journey, relish the gorgeous scenery as you meander down the west coast past majestic Mount Cook and stunning coastal vistas. In Wanaka, opt to kayak on the crystal clear lake and enjoy the lakeside cafés.

Days 17-18 Wanaka to Queenstown

This morning enjoy a thrilling jet boat ride and a scenic wilderness walk in the remarkable Mount Aspiring National Park, before returning to Wanaka and driving the short distance to Queenstown via the spectacular Crown Range Road.

Day 19 Milford Sound

Head out on a cruise to experience the awe-inspiring scenery of Milford Sound, dominated by the imposing Mitre Peak.

Day 20 Queenstown

Your journey ends this morning.

Days 3-4 Auckland to Bay of Islands
Start your journey with a city tour of Auckland before travelling to the Kauri Museum for an informative talk. Continue to the Bay of Islands, visiting the Waitangi Treaty Grounds to hear the history of the famous treaty signed here.

Day 5 Bay of Island to Auckland
This morning, explore the scenic beauty of the Bay of Islands aboard a luxury catamaran, before travelling back to Auckland.

Day 6 Auckland to Rotorua
Travel on a beautifully restored steam train, the Glenbrook Vintage Railway. Enjoy morning tea at the station before continuing to the National Kiwi Hatchery in Rotorua.

Day 7 Rotorua
Ride the Skyline Gondola this morning and enjoy breakfast with spectacular views. The afternoon is free to explore this geothermal wonderland and enjoy a thrilling Maori cultural performance and hangi feast this evening.

Days 8-9 Rotorua to Wellington
Continue south via spectacular Huka Falls, scenic Lake Taupo and rugged Tongariro National Park en route to Wellington. On day 8, visit Te Papa, New Zealand’s National Museum and embark on a city tour.

Days 10-11 Wellington to Christchurch
Cross the Cook Strait through the Marlborough Sounds to Picton. Board the Coastal Pacific for a spectacular rail journey. On day 10, tour the International Antarctic Centre and enjoy a city tour followed by the Christchurch Tram.

Day 12 Christchurch to Fox Glacier
Board the TranzAlpine. Travel in style through breathtaking gorges as you ascend to Arthur’s Pass. Transfer by luxury coach to Fox Glacier where free time allows for an optional scenic flight over the glaciers.

Days 13-14 Fox Glacier to Queenstown

Sail to Deep Cove and re-join your luxury coach to Te Anau for an afternoon at leisure. On day 16, head to Dunedin, famous for its stunning Edwardian and Victorian architecture dating back to the gold rush of the 1800s.

Day 18 Dunedin
Drive along the Otago Peninsula to Larnach Castle for a guided tour of this historic landmark. Enjoy an Ultimate High Tea in the Grand Ballroom before returning to Dunedin for some free time.

Days 19-20 Dunedin to Christchurch
