Fairmont Copley Plaza

The lobby and restaurant/bar area of the Fairmont Copley Plaza are absolutely stunning and it was not a surprise to find out that it was originally built as an art gallery. The hotel is immaculate and the staff are absolutely fantastic: attentive without ever being intrusive.

The rooms are simple but lovely and the bathrooms are of a good size (some with bathroom and some with shower so request accordingly if you have a preference).

There is only one bar and restaurant and this is also where the breakfast is served. The breakfast is a la carte and one of the best, if not the best I've ever had (eggs benedict but with lobster instead of ham? Delicious!). The breakfast alone made it worth visiting Boston (and I loved Boston!).

There’s also an Executive Lounge which is definitely worth upgrading your room type for if you prefer a quieter place to sit and have a drink or work. The lounge is lovely and very cosy, with different areas including a library, and it has some food available and an honour bar.

The location of the hotel is great, especially if coming from the Amtrak station (a 2 minute walk). From the Back Bay area it’s about a 10-20 minute walk to the other areas of Boston, but Boston Common is nearby and there are also a lot of local restaurants and bars on pretty Newbury Street.
